We have a 1 bedroom booked at Hilton Head. I understand only the main building has elevators, and that this is where the majority of the 1BR units are located.

Should I request building 11? If we are put in the other buildings, does anyone know what floor the 1BR is on? I don’t want to deal with two toddlers and possibly a double stroller without an elevator.

Thanks!!

The main building number 12 has an elevator. Building 11 is attached to it so you can use that elevator to get to it.

Buildings 11 and 12 are the primary location for studios and one bedrooms.

There is one other building that they installed an elevator can’t remember off the top of my head, but I think it was building 28. There are five other buildings that have one bedrooms, but they’re underneath grand villas and tend to be noisy.

Head over to the HHI page lots of friendly people over there.

I think you have 11 and 12 switched. We've stayed in 1 BRs over 20 times at HHI, the room #s start with the 2 #s that are the building, then the # representing the floor, then the # for the room. So #1127 was in the main building, second floor (there are 3 floors in the main lodge), room #7, #1226 was building 12, floor 2, room #6. Our favorite area is the top floor of the main lodge, but favorite depends on what you want to do. We love watching water and birds, which is great from there. But if you want to be as close as possible to the pool and/or Tide Me Over, buildings 18 and 19 are closer.

Yes thanks. I just remembered #13 was behind the main building and just remembered 11 & 12 were connected. Thanks :)

Just to piggyback on the previous posts, both 11's and 12's rooms are accessible via elevator. Technically, the elevator is located in the Live Oak Lodge (where you check in) building (11). The walk along the access way to 12 takes just mere moments longer.

As for the other buildings with a 1BR--there are only five--those would be 16, 18, 19, 28, & 30--each of these is a GV building which each includes four 2BRs, a 1BR, and a studio, the last two of which sit directly under the GV itself. Only 28 has an elevator; however, all the 1BRs are on the bottom floor, though at HHI, that means roughly nine steps to the first floor (generally, two steps to a small landing, then seven more steps up to the bottom floor).

Thus, your options are 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 28, and 30. 11/12 and 28 have elevators. Of those, the closest to the pool is 28. The one with the best view is 18. Yet, the resort is small so the walk doesn't take long no matter which building you're in. pirate:
