Looking for others' experiences with HGV, especially, but not only, if you are an owner.

not an owner - loved it

beautiful resort. my problem with iir was --- used to Disney. A child got lost and ended up at my door - well called front desk (since security was not on the phone) - and front desk shocked me.

they say just leave the kid outside.... someone would find him....

with as many sexual predictors that are in Orlando - would think that all the hotels would provide protection for kids - they don't.

so opened my door and stayed with the child until his brother showed up (took the family a good 20 minutes to realize he was gone)

so be carefully of your children here.

There are actually 3 HGVCs in orlando, not one. They are:

Seaworld
International drive
Parc Soleil

We've stayed at the Seaworld location once and Parc Soleil, their newest, a number of times. Parc Soleil is the best Timeshare resort in Orlando IMHO. We are going back again in 2014. Here is my review:

Great resorts, huge, we much prefer over the Disney resorts.

Which resort was this at?

We stayed at Sea World. It was one of the best vacations that we have ever had. The amenities were top notch and everything was super clean. WOuld stay there again in a heartbeat.

We are currently staying at SeaWorld and were strongly considering buying, but we are having one issue after another. Then when we were at our seminar, I ran into a guy who was staying at Park Soleil who was being moved because they were having leaking problems. So I wanted to see how others' experiences were.

Seaworld - so was really surprised at their attitude toward kids.

the other thing did not like was no lifeguard at the pool. but that it like most timeshares.

only Disney seems to have lifeguards at their pools.

We stayed at the one at sea world twice nd loved it. The only problem was housekeeping. We'd get back to the room late afternoon and find that the room had not been cleaned. We would call down and they would send someone up, but it was a nuisance. Sometimes we would just take fresh towels.

We were talking about staying there in October, but dh is running the tot 10miler and it's a short trip, we are staying on.

I'm an owner and have stayed at all 3 Orlando resorts multiple times. Have also stayed at the Vegas and South beach resorts. I love HGVC. Used to own DVC but dumped it since I can trade into DVC using my HGVC points if I want to which I usually don't because I much prefer the HGVC resorts to the Disney resorts.

Here has been our experience at SeaWorld HGVC-

Arrived on Wednesday, June 5-locks on both doors (in a two bedroom) were iffy on working and were both replaced during our stay. Toilet in main bathroom had to have pump replaced right after we arrived because it would not flush. There was a ROACH in the clock on the stove. We went to a park and returned a little after 9 then waited in reception for over 30 minutes for a bellman to unlock the luggage closet to get our stroller that had been delivered. He never arrived so we went to our room and asked them to bring it to our room which took another 20 minutes. We also couldn't get a ride to our room and started walking and someone from security picked us up.

Thursday, June 6-Another roach in the kitchen and a black nasty hair in the tea kettle. Hair dryer in main bathroom does not work. Go to the seminar and return 3 hours later to find the kitchen flooded after we ran the dishwasher. A nice gift basket on return that evening in our room.

Friday-two more roaches in the kitchen. They moved our stuff to a new room and it looked really nice when we walked in. They had towels folded like rabbits and mice in the kitchen and swans on the master bed and soft music playing. We also had a load of laundry in the washer that we had asked be moved to our new room as well. Not only did they move it, they dried and folded it and pressed a few of the shirts! Then we discover the DVD player doesn't work when we are trying to put on a movie for the kids. Sigh...

Saturday-no roaches! Yay! However, we try to use the jetted tub and to our complete amazement *sarcasm* the jets don't work!

If any one of these things had been an issue (aside from roaches), no big deal. We are Hilton diamond members and expect to occasionally have a problem. We do not expect to have all of these problems compounded by less than impressive service all in one stay. Very disappointing to say the least.

And we just found a roach in our new room (in a different building!). If these go home with us in our stuff I will be soooooooooo mad. Good thing we are checking out today!

they are lovely!

but since wdw is the only place that I want to be - will kept DVC.

although in the downturn did look at buying HGVC. It definitely beats DVC in design and looks.

they won't

roaches in florida are hard to get rid of - up north they freeze if outside - bur florida generally does not get that cold.

plus if it those big ones - they don't live inside but outside - they come inside for food. plus you have to watch what you have open - outisde door or even patio door - these things will come walking in.... plus they can fly

florida is getting harder on using poison for killing any bugs.

sorry you are having problems.

There has always been a lifeuard at the HGVCs I have stayed at and I have stayed there many more times then once.

not when I stayed - know because the kids were fighting over the slide - a lifeguard would have stopped that quickly. kids were coming down the slide on top of other kids.

glad now they have them. bet it is pleasant experience now.

how about helping lost kids - have they improved that too????

think my visit was in 2003.

I did not see a lifeguard, but I am used to not having them. It was also later at night when we were in the pool.
