Hilton Grand VAcations - how long in advance?

We stayed at HGV at Seaworld for the first time and are now planning on returning next year. I realize they are timeshares, and I imagine owners have to release them to the public if they won't want to use them at the time they own them for?

There's absolutely no availability for next April/May so I'm just wondering how long in advance they are normally available? For our April trip this year, we booked in October, so maybe around 6 months?

yes they only release them between 6 and 8 months in advance is what I have learned in the 11 years I have owned my timeshare there
