I've booked a 3 bedroom unit here. Has anyone been to this resort? Any comments? Are the 3 bedroom units lockout units?

We stayed at the 3 bedroom unit 4 years ago. The 2nd bedroom looked like a lockout, with it's own ensuite bath and mini kitchen area, but did not have a seperate door to the hallway. It also had a couch in the ensuite. Master bathroom had a big whirlpool tub in the king sized bedroom, the seperate bathroom had the toilet and shower. Other bedroom had 2 double bed, with a full bath in hallway right outside it. We like HGVC very much, and would return happily to it.

starting 11/5. I had hoped for the one on I Drive (that's the newer one) but the Seaworld property came up for exchange through RCI.

I have heard that there are dedicated 2 bdrms and there are lockouts. I have to imagine that the 3 bdrms are the same. If you check their website you might be able to figure it out.

When are you travelling?

We stayed there about 3 years ago, and it's been our favorite timeshare so far! We had a 2-bedroom. The master bedroom had a king bed & huge jacuzzi tub (perfect after a long day of walking at the parks), with a separate bathroom & shower. We really liked the pool areas, and the grounds were nice. We've always wanted to stay there again, but it hasn't been available for us since. :sad1: Hope you like it there!

you would like the HGVC international drive location too

we were there in september in a two bedroom and are back again in a one bedroom in december ( both were probably due to bulk deposits and through EV on RCI )

the price could not be beat =)

I'm going MLK week. Right now I have the 3 bedroom but it's only myself and DGS going.

How far was the drive to Disney?

We are staying through a friend's mother, who swapped out her week from her timeshare in Williamsburg for this one and gave it to us. I have seen pictures of the new one on I Drive and hoped for that but this was great too. Of course, we booked early (I get nervous about accomodations) and if I had waited, I probably would have found other options as well. I'm sure we'll like it.

It will be me, dh and our 2 boys (7.5 and 3). I have no idea about the layout of the resort. Is there a particular building that you would recommend we try for? I don't want to be too far from wherever we park the car. I'm not sure if we'll do the pool (depends on the weather) but I can walk a bit or drive to it if needed.

We'll need to shop for food sometime after we arrive. Do you know the nearest market to the resort? I'm hoping that it's not Goodings as they are sooo expensive.

Any suggestions you might have would be great.

Leaving in just 9 days!!!

all the buildings have names, if you go to www.tug2.net and go to the hotel related thread you could post a question to HGVC experts

we stayed there november 2003 in a three bedroom ....and we requested the building which was the second one from the check in area due to the suggestions we got from others ( we checked in early but did not get the room right away but were assigned what we wanted ...the bell hop took our luggage for us and when we returned around 3ish the unit was ready )

as far as parking you will not be far from the "elevators" ( which are in the center )....each building has plentiful parking spots

as far as shopping.....

there is a big publix just down international drive ( about 10 minutes )...the plaza is just across the street from HGVC on International Drive, there is also a walgreens and subway there

if you go a bit further and get onto 535 going towards 192 ( Kissimmee ) there is a new super walmart at the corner of polynesian isles blvd probably take you about 15 - 20 minutes to get there

if you want a super target there is one just after you turn left onto 192 from 535 about 5 minutes away from the super walmart

if you take central florida parkway east and go beyond international drive there are a couple of plazas ....one with a publix a bit closer but not as big as the other two mentioned above

as you notice i did not mention.....goodings to you.....i agree we avoid them like the plague

you should have a wonderful time there ( we go november 12 - 19 ) but are staying at polynesian isles this time )

Lawgs, I just wanted to thank you for all of your tips and directions to the stores, we just got back from Disney/HGVC about a week ago. I had printed out your directions before I left, and I'm so glad I did! I found my way to Target and Publix by myself (well, and your cheat sheet!), and I'm one of "those" people who can't find their way out of a paper bag. Thanks again!
