has anyone stayed at the Hilton Garden inn on Harbor blvd?
I have passes so we have free disney parking and Im not worried about the proximity of the hotel, but rather the size of the 2 queen room and the cleanliness. thanks!

Never stayed at THAT garden inn, but I have stayed at a good number. Always what I would expect. Not the most upscale hotel but nice and clean and comfortable. I have stayed at the Anaheim Hilton and it is very nice if you are trying to stick to Hilton brands.

Let's put it this way, I could stay for $49 a night with free full hot breakfast and I won't do it. The service was great but the hotel is run down. Rooms are old and very worn. Mildewing tub, odd smell and dirty carpets.

Just a thought but free parking? Won't you be basically driving across the street to the Toy Story lot and taking their shuttle instead of ART?

We stayed at the HGI on Harbor Blvd. in March 2009. It is a Hilton triplex that also includes the Embassy Suites South and the Hampton Inn. When we were there, the rooms looked recently updated and were very nice. It is standard HGI decoration and reliable for cleanliness. It is comfortable, but definitely not upscale - a good place to rest at the end of a long busy day at the parks.

The room was enough space for our family of 4, the 2 queen beds very comfy with new white linens. We had a bed and breakfast package ($90/night). The hot breakfast was decent and allowed us to get out the door fast in the morning. The staff was fantastic and friendly. When we returned in the evening, there were warm cookies waiting in the lobby. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room and replenishing our towels and amenities.

The free parking is nice, since they were just starting to charge for parking at around the time we stayed there - I think about $12/day. The ART stop is next door in front of the Embassy Suites. However, if you drive, it's just a 5-min. drive along S. Harbor to the DL lot. It's a short 3-min. drive to the Target on Chapman and Harbor, and a 3-min drive to the Anaheim Garden Plaza where there are restaurants and shops.

I have stayed there multiple times, but it was probably at least two years ago. We always really enjoyed it. Free parking, internet... so I'm not sure if they really charge for parking now. Anyway, for us, we always thought it was quite a nice hotel, lol! (considering what the poster said a few spaces up )

My friend is a manager at a HGI here in Utah: it's beautiful and new. I am sure it doesn't see near the traffic that the Anaheim one does. We may have just got an old room. Again, if they could match the room quality with the service, I'd stay again. I admit owning DVC has spoiled me so I may be a bit more critical.

I second the recommendation for the Anaheim Hilton as a possible alternative. Their prices are actually pretty reasonable and it's a beautiful hotel. We don't stay anywhere else.

I stayed in a very nice HGI recently, but we HATE their new Evolution bed system. UGH! They've gone to foam mattresses where you can adjust (supposedly) their firmness. Felt great at first. But the next morning, neither of us could move. We were so stiff! A friend of mine stayed at a HGI in Montana recently, and she said the same thing.

I won't stay in any HGI simply because of the beds.
