Just booked this for 2 nights during X-mas week, en-route from visiting family.. What can you guys tell me about this hotel? The suites were all booked so we are in a reg room. 2 kids, 13 and 9 who love to swim. outdoor pool says it's heated, has anyone been there in Dec.? The plan is to spend most of our time at SW. Can you really walk from the hotel to the park? Is it clean? Any info good and bad will help us out greatly, as we are running into availability on some of the other places we had hoped to try.
TIA,
Pam

Hi, I posted this to someone else a little while back so forgive me for copying and pasting. Also, we stayed there in August, so I'm not sure about the heated pool, but the pool wasn't as huge as the ones at the Disney resorts which I find to be cold, so hopefully the water will be warm.

Yes, you can EASILY walk
from the hotel to Sea World, but the person at the desk was not specific, just told us to "go out the side exit and cross the street" which led us to the back of a parking lot with gates and huge do not enter signs. We assumed that we were supposed to walk around to an entrance which proved impossible with a stroller as the side walk ended plus it was deceivingly far, and incredibly hot. After about 30 minutes we got quite frustrated, turned back and got into our car and drove over. When we returned that night we felt like complete idiots when we were told that we could have walked around the gates and through the closed parking lot, which would have actually been closer than where we paid to park, LOL.

A year ago, we got a great deal on a package including two free adult tickets with 2 nights stay at a rate of $99 per night. The hotel was excellent and spotless and our standard room was very big and new feeling. The pool was nice and stayed open late. We were given free microwave popcorn and were able to see the fireworks from our window. We were very pleased, and would stay there again!

Also, we did the Dine With Shamu show and it was worth it for the show, but the food was absolutely horrible. In fact compared to WDW, the food service was extremely slow, terrible and expensive throughout the entire park. I would definitely take snacks and water and eat breakfast beforehand.

Hope this helps, have a great time!

Hi:

We have stayed just down the road from the Hilton. It is a very easy walk.

We were located a bit further away from Sea World than the Hilton is.

We just cut through the parking lot and you are right at the entrance where you go into Sea World.

This year we also paid for one day admission and got the rest of the year free. Have really enjoyed the freedom this has allowed us to visit SeaWorld.

Hope you have a great time.

It's a shame the search function isn't working on the DIS boards! I'm sure you would be able to find lots of great reviews of the Hilton Garden Inn. DH and I stayed there 1 night a few months ago. The room looked brand-new and was absolutely spotless. It had a refrigerator and microwave, too. We couldn't figure out how to walk to Seaworld so we drove:rolleyes: . Luckily parking was free with our annual passes!

Have a great time at SeaWorld--it's a fun place!
