Where would you recommend to stay instead? Looking for park and cruise with a one night stay.

Your question is a little confusing, can you elaborate?

When are you going? They only allow bookings a year in advance if I remember correctly. If you are looking for Fall 2018 it may be too early for you to book. If you want Fall 2017, they may be full and it could be too late. I wish I had another hotel to recommend, but I don't. The only thing I can suggest is to check out Cruise Critic's NYC departure forum. Maybe you will find something else there.

For anyone not familiar with what OP is asking, there is a Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield Park, NJ that offers a great Park, Ride and Cruise package for sailing out of the Manhattan cruise terminal.

How bout hotels by MetLife Stadium in meadowlands area. 15 mins to Manhattan, Jersey City etc

Try Sheraton Lincoln harbor. Not sure if they cruise and park rates but you could easily hop the ferry across the Hudson to the cruise terminal.

The ferry is literally behind the hotel

There are many hotels by Newark Airport. There is a train from airport that either goes to Newark and you switch trains or maybe right to Penn Station NYC. I think there are hotels by Met Life Stadium too.

These are are not to far from NYC. Even look north of Hoboken ther are ferries in West NY and Edgewater, NJ to Manhattan.

We are sailing from NYC 10/2. But we live only about 45 miles from NYC a, so we will drive in.
