Dumb question... but how do most of these hotels handle parking costs and check-in/out?

We live 75 minutes away, so have never spent the night. We just drive up in the morning, park at Toy Story, ride the bus (or sometimes walk), and drive home at the end of the day. It’s not uncommon for us to leave home at 7am and not get back until 11pm.

Since I earn Hilton Honors points through work travel, I thought it would be fun to spend a couple of nights this spring and get 2 or 3 days in a row at the parks. The hotels show that they charge $18-$22ish/night for parking... but I wonder what that gets you. Can you only park check-in to check-out? Can you extend your parking at the hotel by a few hours? Is one of these hotels easier to deal with than others? Obviously, I don’t want to pay to park twice.

Any insight/experience welcome.

We stayed at Homewood Suites last month. I asked if we could leave our car after check out, and that was totally fine. They just gave us a "guest pass" that allowed us to exit the hotel parking lot when we eventually left. (The parking is gated and your room key gives you access in and out of the lot.) We returned to the hotel at 5:30pm to pick up our car. No extra charge.

I know you can leave your car all day on checkout day at Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn. I haven't tried at the other Hilton Hotels in the area.
