Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront recently? The website says "This hotel is open and currently undergoing renovations, scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2005". Does anyone have an update?

I just called the Hilton Oceanfront and talked to inhouse reservations. I booked a room, because by the time we are there in January, all renovations will be done. Here is what I learned:

When the hurricanes hit last year, the hotel was beginning renovations to upgrade to a new star rating level--from three stars to four stars. The ongoing renovations have been delayed because of rain this summer, but they are due to be completed by mid to late August. Right now, the construction noise starts around 6am, but it's not constant noise--there are breaks throughout the day.

Basically, everything in the rooms is new--new beds, new bathrooms, etc. There are no balconies, but they all have nice views; even if you're not on the ocean side, there's a nice view of the park. We booked a Jr. Suite with an angled oceanview (there are only 10, so book well in advance if you want one of those). The jr suites are double the square footage of the rooms and include either a king or two queens with a sitting area with a pulldown couch.

I hope this info helps you! :flower:

We stayed there in June. The beach front part of the hotel had plastic on it. The pool and pool bar was open. Main restaurant opened back up on our last day there. Our room was very nice, hotel had a big nice deck with entertainment. Great beach access. Hotel was centrally located. I got a super cheap rate from AAA website. Much much less than Hilton's rate. We were very happy. Staff was very friendly. Have a great time!

Thanks Tahoe and Tricialiv for the info!!!! We have Hilton points and we hoped we would be able to find a good hotel close to the port where we could use our points instead of $$$. We are on the 9-17-05 Eastern Cruise, hopefully most of the major construction will be done by then. Actually, as long as the rooms are new, that is fine with me. We are driving down on Friday and will probably be checking in pretty late, just want a comfortable clean place to stay with a good breakfast in the morning.

Thanks again!!

Do they have a complimentary breakfast? :confused3
The Hilton does not have a complimentary breakfast. Friends of ours are staying at Hampton Inn, they have a complimentary breakfast bar.

YOU GOT THE HILTON FOR $78.00 PER AAA.???? jUST WENT ON 145 PER NIGHT AAA.

Sorry, I didn't ask about the shuttle service because we'll be renting a car. Call the hotel directly. The woman I spoke with in inhouse reservations was extremely friendly and helpful. :sunny:

I checked the AAA site too for the $78 rate. The rate requires that you pay for it now, otherwise it is $145 or so if you just want to hold the room. You actually have to go to the AAA site. You won't see the rate if you look for the AAA rate on the Hilton website, travelocity, etc.

what time of year did you get $78.00...I call AAA and got a rate of $145 for 8/20

I just checked aaa-calif.com, went to "Hotels;" plugged in 8/20-21, Cocoa Beach, Fl, two adults; and hit search. When the page of hotels comes up, it's about halfway down. It will say "from $94 USD," but click on "Book Hotel," and you should see the $78 rate as the first one for a standard with "advance payment required." :flower:

I don't know the florida area. How far is Hilton Cocoa Beach from the port?

I just copied this off their website:

Located directly on the Atlantic coast in Cocoa Beach, Florida
Only five minutes from Port Canaveral's cruise terminals
Minutes from John F. Kennedy Space Center and Jetty Park
45 minutes from Orlando International Airport (MCO)
Just 25 miles from Melbourne International Airport (MLB)
About an hour from popular Disney attractions and Sea World

I had a feeling it was pretty close to the cruise terminals because the reservations agent said that some of the angled ocean views have a view of the cruise ships.
