Has anyone ever had any luck with uprgades at this hotel? Whether it was complimentary or you had to pay...thanks

We will be there next Saturday night and I can let you know. This will be our first time staying here and are very excited. My DH is a Diamond HH and he usually always get upgraded. I am also curious to see if they iwill upgrade us. We won't pay for an upgrade, but it would be nice to get a "Disney" view room.

When we went there last Oct. right after it opened they were going to charge me for an upgrade even though the hotel was not very full. Word had not gotten out yet how nice this place is! The price is almost twice what I paid just 4 months ago! :scared1:

I have 3 reservations for this resort for 3 different times and we got them for $84.15 per night (without taxes). We have a reservation for this Saturday, July 4th weekend and Labor Day weekend. We have APs at WDW and are Fl. Residents and I have a pin code for the 20/30/40 off for most of the year, but I don't think that any deal WDW has to offer will come close to these prices. While we like to stay on-site, the prices for some of the Deluxe resorts are just not worth it. We stayed at GF and while it is a beautiful resort and the location to MK can't be beat, the stay was not worth the price they charge. The rooms are nice, but our next door neighbors were horrible. They were so loud late at night, they let their toddler scream for over an hour without trying to stop him late at night. We had someone come to our room at 9:30pm (after our son was asleep) to change out the Bible. It was very strange. We are very excited about trying HBC and with the price, it might become our new favorite resort.

We are booked 8/21-28. DH is Diamond, so I'm hoping for an upgrade to a Disney view!!! The pool looks amazing and the kids are so excited to try the slide and lazy river.

We are staying on points, so it's free. We would have booked the Waldorf but thought the pool on the Hilton side looked better.

We were upgraded to a Disney view room when we stayed in Oct '09, about 2 weeks after opening. When we arrived the adjoining room door was open .... to a huge living room and second bedroom!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I all but flipped out! It turns out that it was the "model" that they use to show all the big wigs and those who were interested in hosting meetings. We figured this out when not 30 minutes after we arrived they started giving someone a tour! :rotfl2: We just quietly closed the middle door.

We were only there one night, but since we had been traveling, we spent a good amount of time in the room. I did manage to take video of Illuminations from the room as well  We paid $79 before tax for our room and it was a great hotel for the price! We will be going back.
