Was looking to stay there, any pics or info would be helpful. We have never done DLR, we were gonna stay at Grand Californian(we are DVC), but it was booked at 7 months out, so back to square one.

Nice hotel. The Peter Thomas Roth toiletries are typically very expensive. They have in room coffee from Lavazza. They also have central HVAC with very quiet fans.

They charge for parking and the spaces are tiny. If you can't get a wide space then maybe park on the upper floors where there are fewer cars.

They do charge for Internet access but the Starbucks downstairs has free wifi and I found that it reached the top floor. SB says anyone is welcome to use their wifi paying or not. It shows up as attwifi.

You can also access the Toy Story lot by exiting on Convention Center Way and crossing the street. There are no problems taking the shuttle bus.

We have stayed there a few times. Nice hotel but a bit of a walk. Now that they have the Toy Story Lot close by it is much better. For the price it is a great bargin.

I've stayed there before and It's a nice hotel 15 to 20 mins walk from the parks. There is a 7-11 on the corner of Katella and S. Harbor blvd, that has cheap water and snacks, and is great to hit to and from the parks. If you don't mind the walk, it's a great place to stay. They have a nice water play area for the kids, but we never had time to use it, as our stay was a short one.

We just recently stayed here (12-30-12) and it was amazing. We paid a little extra to stay in a room with Disneyland view and were able to see the fireworks at 9:15pm. It was great, especially since it was freezing that night and we opted to stay in our room. Very roomy, nice comfy bed and the shower was nice and large. I would definitely recommend it as an alternative to staying in the park.

We've stayed at this Hilton several times. We're Hilton Honors members so get some nice perks there. Always an upgrade to a great room and little things like free bottles water in the lobby.

Some rooms have perfect views of the park so you can watch fireworks from the room. There is breakfast either at the restaurant or Starbucks. You get a beverage and any pastry of your choice. We did that. Much quicker and better bang for the buck.
We were just there last month to see all the Christmas glory. We booked at $99/night with 3rd or 4th night free. Can't remember!!

It's a very nice hotel. You don't get the immersive Disney magic but it is really fine. We did not have kids with us so worked out.

Nice to know about the wifi, hopefully it will be available in my room. :goodvibes

What is the Toy Story lot and shuttle?

I a, also interested in hearing how the Toy Story lot works?

When I called the hotel I spoke to someone at the Disney counter in the hotel and they told me about a bus across the street that runs every 20 min, 5$ return trip. Is this the bus at the Toy Story Lot?

Sounds like the hotel is referring to their ART shuttle. The Hilton has a dedicated one and there is a charge to use it.
The Toy Story lot is a Disneyland parking lot across the street from the Hilton on Harbor. There are shuttles there that take guests to the esplanade. So, rather than walking or taking ART, some folks walk to the TS lot and grab one of the free shuttles into the parks.

Here is a google map showing the Toy Story shuttle pick-up area from the south entrance of the Hilton:

Google shows it as a 7 minute walk at .4 miles. It's free, and the shuttles depart more frequently than ART. :thumbsup2

Here's the Starbucks policy:

http://www.starbucks.com/coffeehouse/wireless-internet

Starbucks offers free, one-click, unlimited Wi-Fi at all company-owned stores in the United States, including instant access to the Starbucks Digital Network. There’s no purchase or subscription required, no password needed and no time limit on your session.

Just open a browser on your laptop or mobile device and click “Connect.” We want to provide you with a great digital experience to go with your great cup of coffee. We hope you’ll visit us soon!

The Toy Story lot was explained already. They have a sidewalk and an open gate. All the CMs see people walking in and have no problem if you parked there or not. I asked a bus driver, and he no problem although he said he was only authorized to take people to the lot and to the main entrance.

We paid $103 a night prepaid and nonrefundable around Thanksgiving. I remember someone posted a "Friends and Family" link where the prices were as low as $59 a night without a deposit and regular cancellation policies (24 hours I believe). Their prices are all over the map because they rely on convention goers, and that varies. I think their typical rates are around $175 to $200 a night when there's a major convention.

When I called the hotel directly they quoted me 259$/night :scared:
got it 76$/night (same dates, same room) on lastminutetravel.com :thumbsup2

Nice rate! A few years back I got just over $50 through priceline, i believe.

But remember the parking fee if you have a car! Adds about $20/night onto the cost. Still a good total, but worth knowing.

We've had two one-night-before stays. Neither have been perfect, which is sad because I want to love the place. :) First night I was weirdly sick, nearly thought I had appendicitis, and barely slept all night. Second time I felt fine, but the hot water heater went out in the morning, which seriously impacted our morning. Took half an hour for the front desk to answer their phone (because everyone else was calling about it), and I found out that it was out for at least a few hours. And to stop by the front desk to get a refund of sorts. Well we were running late because of that time spent, then I had to brave the freezing cold shower, and the line was LONG LONG LONG as we were leaving, so we didn't get anything back.

We got in too late to get distilled water for DH's CPAP so we used the bottled water they had, and drank the other bottled water. Same water, same size. Different prices on the tags. WEIRD. It's really too bad we didn't hit the front desk on the way out. I left a message with them, but they never got back to us.

We'll try it again some day, and hopefully it will be as perfect a stay as I want it to be. :)

FYI, The Hilton will be one of the hotels that will house the high school members of the Future Business Leaders of America during the last week of June. In all about 8500 teenagers will be staying in the convention area hotels.

The place has 1500 rooms and is probably the largest hotel in Anaheim. I suppose when they have issues, it can affect a lot of people. I didn't have any problems with lines at the front desk, but that depends on way too many factors. I've been to large 1000+ room hotels where I've waited in a line a long time. This visit was pretty painless.

Our stay was pretty much uneventful (in a good way) except for the basketball tournament going on next door and the tall college kids wandering through the building.

The place was clean, quiet, and comfortable as I'd expect from a Hilton property. When we needed extra towels, they were there in ten minutes. When housekeeping started on our floor, it was a small army what seemed like a dozen maids.

We stayed at the Hilton over Labor Day weekend. We purchased through last minute travel and only had to pay $5 per day parking. At check in they explained it was because we purchased through one of the travel sites. I wasn't going question it anymore since $5 is a lot better than $20.

Good to know. I have a one night stay there booked through last minute travel. LMT claimed "Resort Fee Included" so maybe this is why the parking is cheaper, although I would have thought it would be either fully included or not included at all in a resort fee. I guess I'll find out when I get there.
