Hills in theme parks?

Since my husband will be pushing me in a wheelchair, are there very many hills in the theme parks or is it generally flat?

There are definately hills. Not big ones. It looks flat in many places but it really isn't.

Most of the parks are pretty flat, so you will be fine, the only that you will be pushing uphill at times is Animal Kingdom.

they aren't really hills - this is not Bush Gardens in Williamsburg or even Col Williamsburg that have really hills and hate to push mother in either of these places...

more like upclimbs and declimbs.... He can do it. nothing is too bad in Disney....

my problem was picking up the wheelchair and putting it in the trunk.... those things are HEAVY.... now I let her have a wheelchair if we take the WDW buses.... otherwise I will rent one at the parks.

A custom-made chair doesn't have to be heavy. Mine weighs 10 pounds with the wheels off. I take it apart and put it in my car every day, picking it up with one hand (from sitting in the driver's seat).

I wouldn't say there are hills, but there are plently of ramps you will have to go up and down on. Exiting theaters is probably one of the toughest spots.

There are a couple of spots in each park that are harder then others to push up. But I can push myself up just about any hill/ramp in WDW. I don't think I've run across any that I can't do as long as the crowd isn't too bad and I'm not injured. With that in mind I think you should probably be able to get your Mom around without too much trouble.

I echo the Busch Gardens Williamburg warning though. That place has some very steep hills. But it is my second favorite park behind WDW.

I found Animal Kingdom to be the ruffest for DH to push me, But now that I have a ECV I can drive myself

I have found reallly steep hills if you enter Epcot via the International Gateway or the ramp to the Monorail at Magic Kingdom. You will have to go straight up the ramp to the monorail or use the boats. The International Gateway helps if you zig-zag up that hill.

I don't remember the name for the Epcot hill but people on surrey bikes find it a challenge.
