Here's a good read and it shows exactly why Clinton hasn't left the race yet; she still has a leg to stand on. While the SD's are probably going with Obama; Hilliary is still in this race.

In most inclusive count, Clinton has the numbers
By Jonathan Last

Inquirer Editorial Board

Lost in the excitement of Barack Obama's coronation this week was an inconvenient fact of Tuesday's results: Hillary Clinton netted approximately 150,000 votes and is now poised to finish the primary season as the popular-vote leader. In some quaint circles, presumably, these things still matter.
Real Clear Politics keeps track of six versions of the popular-vote total. They are, in ascending order of inclusivity: (1) the popular vote of sanctioned contests; (2) the total of sanctioned contests, plus estimated votes from the Iowa, Nevada, Maine and Washington caucuses; (3) the popular vote plus Florida; (4) popular vote plus Florida and the caucuses; (5) the popular vote plus Florida and Michigan; (6) popular vote plus Florida, Michigan, and the caucus estimates. After Tuesday, Clinton now leads in two of these six counts.

If you believe that the most important precept in democratic politics is to "count every vote," then the sixth category is the most inclusive, and here Clinton leads Obama by 71,301 votes. Of course, this includes the Michigan result, where Sen. Obama had removed his name from the ballot. So while it may be the most inclusive, it may not be the most fair.

The third and fourth counts - the ones which include Florida - seem more fair. Here, Obama is clinging to a slight lead of 146,786 votes (257,008, with the caucus estimates). However, with Puerto Rico, Montana, and South Dakota remaining, he will almost certainly finish behind her in these counts, likely by a few hundred thousand votes.

But could Clinton take over the lead in all of the popular-vote tabulations? Quite possibly. In Puerto Rico's last major election, two million people voted. Let's assume that turnout for this historic vote - Puerto Rico has never had a presidential primary before - will be equal to or greater than that turnout.

If Clinton were to win Puerto Rico by 20 points she would pick up at least a 400,000-vote margin. This would allow her to swamp Obama in the popular-vote counts, which include Florida, making her the leader in four of the six permutations of the popular vote. At that point, Obama would be left clinging to the least-inclusive count, which he now leads by 441,558 votes (551,780, including caucuses).

To understand how razor-thin this majority is, consider that if the Puerto Rico turnout is slightly larger than we have imagined - or Clinton's margin is slightly greater - then Clinton would finish the primary process leading in every conceivable vote count. With two million voters, a 28 percent victory would put Clinton over the top even in the count, which excludes Florida and Michigan and includes estimates for Obama's caucus victories.

It is this looming prospect which explains the tremendous pressure Obama partisans and the media are putting on Clinton to drop out of the race. They want her gone now because they understand that she has an excellent chance of finishing as the undisputed people's choice.

Would it matter if Clinton were the undisputed (or even disputed) popular-vote winner? That's hard to say. The question is, matter to whom? The superdelegates will determine the nominee and there's no telling what will sway them. They have no objective criteria from which to make their decisions. But if they were to deny the popular-vote champ the nomination, there is a real question of whether Democratic voters would reconcile themselves to the decision. As it is, much of the talk about Democratic defections in November has been overstated.

Partisan voters almost always come home after their candidate loses. The problem arises when a candidate's supporters believe that their guy (or gal) didn't lose. Expect the chorus calling for Clinton's withdrawal to grow louder over the next week, with people insisting that she has no "path to victory."

Clinton's path is both obvious and simple: Win the popular vote and force Barack Obama and his cheerleaders to explain why that doesn't matter.

And I can respect that, even while I disagree. :teeth: Doesn't make me want to stop trying to convince you, though. Reasonable people should be able to discuss these things without resorting to personal insults.

And do reasonable people go to the opposing teams locker room and try to convince them they're wrong? You are so convinced that you are absolutely right about............ pretty much everything........ that you can't see the forest right in front of you.

Your attitude has done more damage to your cause then everyone else combined. Is that really your goal? Because if it is, I say Bravo! You've been a smashing success. But if you think you're converting anyone in here to Obama's side, I've got news for you.... you're not. In fact you're making them hate your attitude and by extension, Obama as well.

There are more then a few OS that have come in here and had reasonable discussions with us. As far as I'm concerned Chobie and Akhenaton (and a few others) are welcome here anytime. And I realize that we can't stop you from posting in here; but I hope you think about what it is you are trying to achieve and if your current strategy is really working.

The only way she wins the popular vote is by counting her Michigan votes with zero votes to Obama, count her FL votes which all candidates agreed wouldn't count, and estimating the caucus votes in her favor. :rotfl2:

And Hillary really clinches the nomination if Obama has an unfortunate accident in June. :scared1:

You go girl! Woo Hoo!

Don't feed the bears!

Just to refernece the marxist link posted above, this communist he was linked to in 1971-79. Yeah, well, he was 10. Ok, at the end he was 17 or 18. I dont even remember who I was hanging with at 10 talking politics. Gimme a break on that one guys.

I will admit I said I won't vote for Obama. Although experience is part of the reason, the main reason is I DO NOT trust the guy!
I think he is sleaze and a dirty politician who nicely hides his skeletons very well.
They will come out though and when they do; hold on to your hats!

I do not trust that guy as the President of the United States.

Grant it I don't trust many politcians but Obama is a slick one! Sorry he won't get my vote

Too many assumptions here. Hillary is no saint either and though I still prefer the 'devil I know' Hillary over the 'unknown quantity' Obama I still think that any DEM, Obama, Kucinich, Edwards, etc. warrants our vote and hope. Do I have my doubts about Obama? Yes, but I know McCain is a conniver and has sold his soul for this nomination and do not want to go down that road...Do you?

Come on LuvDuke, I’d like to think that you’re smarter than that. If Hillary is this smart yet manipulative, conniving, unethical witch that will do anything to win this election – like you all believe her to be – then she’s not stupid enough to insinuate publicly that Obama will bite the dust before the Convention (even if she were to wish it), conveniently leaving the spot open for her. She knows that not even her supporters would be favorable to her for making horrible comments such as that.

She misspoke; she’s tired and exhausted but she wasn’t implying with that statement that she believes harm would come to Obama. That’s not why Robert Kennedy’s name was brought up. This wasn’t even the first time she’s made the statement, but unfortunately for her, this time the words didn’t come out exactly right and people have had a field day misinterpreting what she said.

But you have to admit......it's a VERY, VERY BAD flub. Makes 57 states when you meant 47 pale greatly in comparison.
First I must say I loved that poem...it was great and i could here there voices in the words :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I need to copy and send that to some friends :thumbsup2

As for Bruce..yes I did and i knew him and went horse back riding with him and his band. I was riding my horse in Holmdel Park NJ and him and a few of his band members came riding up and asked if we( my friend Susan and I) would mind if they road with us...we said sure why not...so we all trekked around for about 4 hrs and chatted and had a great time.

Well after we were done we went back off the trails to the main part of the hill/park...where everyone got high and drank and all that 70's stuff....and we said goodbye. All of a sudden droves of our friends came running up to us sayine..WOW we did not know you knew Bruce Springstien...  Susan and I laughed and said

"That was Bruce S." He looked so different..and buy the way him and his boys took the horses from the stable where they rented them and went off of property...they could have been arrested if the stable had found out.

So the Next time I went to the Pony he was there and I went up to him and we chatted...he gave me 5 free concert tickets to Brookdale Collage (yes at a Collage not yet famous)..and had a blast. We did run into each other many times after but as he left the pony I got out of touch.

about 1 year ago my DH was talking to his best friend who works/runs a huge huge boys camp, they got on the conversation some how about how Bruce is always there lending a hand..so DH told him to ask Bruce if he remembered me and Bruce said "Sure do best time we ever had riding"..the next thing I knew I got in the mail a picture of him(one of his older ones from that time) with a note on it that says....To Robin....the best ride that I ever had" :rotfl2:

I started laughing. DH's friend asked him to send it to me....but the funny thing is is that I am not a Bruce fan...dont care to much for his music....dont own any of his music....but the memory is sure fun.

He owns the Stone pony but Asbury park is trashed. A slum...makes me cry when I see the pictures because I have such great memories there at a time of it's hayday..they are rebuilding it so if he does an opening may go there just to see it back in the highlight :thumbsup2 you know... a blast from the past:woohoo:  :hippie:
What wonderful memories you have! That is incredible that you had so much contact with him. I love his lyrics. I didn't like the way he treated his first wife though, but he seems to be a good husband to the second wife.

So, he actually bought the place? Maybe I will have to go there too one day. I'm sorry to hear about Asbury Park. I hope they can get it restored to what you remember it as.

I knew he endorsed Obama but I did not know he wrote such a passionate letter. I must say if he thinks a president can do all of that, he's dreaming. He should stick to music, I think. I like his music better than I like his political views.

Mary

I would frame that pic, it might be worth something one day.

Wake up and smell the latte. Hillary isn't smart at all. She has the political instincts of a stone going back to her "baking cookies" remark to screwing up healthcare reform and on and on and on.

Tired and exhausted? No doubt. So what? Did she ask for forgiveness going where no American wants to go? Did she thrown herself on her sword? Did she once think to herself "what the hell was I thinking? No on all counts.

Why the hell would anyone even go there least of all a supposedly intelligent politician? Answer: Hillary isn't intelligent at all because intelligent people know when they're up to their eyeballs in crap. Intelligent people don't bring up the idea of political assassinations and don't try to deflect it with "if I had offended anyone". If she had offended anyone? What the hell?

As to her supporters, we all vote our consciences. End of story.

So now I guess if Obama gets gunned down it will be Hillary's fault :sad2: Wow....just wow!!!! :sad2:

I guess Obama is the ONLY one here that can misspoke or not mean how it sounded like. Double standards in action AGAIN!

Oh wait I forgot Rev Wright and Michelle Obama can also say things that they really don't mean or "misspoken words" :rolleyes1

I lurk here occasionally I don't think I've ever posted on your thread before so I hope you guys don't mind. I just have to say BRAVO to you! There are several OS that seem to think they can Bully Hillary and McCain Supporters into thinking like them. I get very tired of the "I'm going to tell you how to think" attitude from some.

BTW, I loved your 'locker room' analogy. :thumbsup2

:tiptoe:tip-toeing out now
