On one hand, I think that "Sweetie" for a woman and "Buddy" for a man is about the same. Both are general and dismissive. OTOH, "Sweetie" is more diminutive. I was wrong for him to call the reporter "Sweetie", but I think that Obama learns from his mistakes so we probably won't hear it again.

It's going to be an interesting 5 1/2 months watching people make up excuses about why wrong things are suddenly OK if Obama does them. If those words had come from a Republicans mouth there would be such loud screaming........I remember Obama being dismissive towards Hillary a month or so ago when he implied she was having an irrational woman type response to things he was saying. That also fell off the screen real fast. I can only imagine what is going to happen to McCain by the media after seeing what they did to Hillary to help Obama. The media is more powerful than any of these candidates.

They were talking about that on CNN this morning after McCains speech. They were saying that McCain better beware because if the media continues to have Obama as there love machine (my words not there's but you get the point)and the media does to McCain what they did to Hillary than McCain will have no chance at all. In addition if they do do that and Hillarys supporters see it being done to McCain even if they dont want McCain it may force them to him because of the unfairness.

Like I said in my first post on this thread, I am a life long Republican. I sometimes gasped out loud at comments media people made about Hillary on their shows. (Chris Matthews is the worst) I could not imagine why they would do this to someone who had been on their side for so long and had done so much good for their party. Their unfairness together with Hillary's spirit are what made me become a supporter of hers. I dread thinking about what the media plans to do to the McCain family.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I'm starting to like fox news. At least they don't sugar coat Obama.

You got to check out Haninty(sp) & Combs (Fox news) along with Glen Beck on CNN's headline news.

I watch FOX all the time. They have good DEM analysts on there show and they try to stay even. Hannity goes after Obama but at least Colmes is there to try to cut him off and have Dem analysts that stand up against what Hannity says. I like FOX.

As for Glenn Beck...he scares me sometimes...he is alot on doom and gloom. The end is always coming in his eyes. I watch him sometimes but he scares me:scared1:

What about a "Hillary/Joe Lieberman" Independent ticket? I think they could win!

Joe Lieberman?!?! You have got to be kidding :scared1:! I disliked him when he ran with Gore and I positively despise him now.

Oh, and I refuse to watch Faux News as they are neither fair nor balanced.

I agree with both of your statements Robin. Faux News scares me!!

"President Bush’s comparison of any Democrat to Nazi appeasers is both offensive and outrageous on the face of it, especially in light of his failures in foreign policy. This is the kind of statement that has no place in any presidential address and certainly to use an important moment like the 60th anniversary celebration of Israel to make a political point seems terribly misplaced. Unfortunately, this is what we’ve come to expect from President Bush."...........Hillary Clinton

That's the Hillary we love. You go girl!:thumbsup2

I only watched Fox news once, recently when Hillary was on. I just thought it was funny that they mentioned "the most watched news network" a Qabizillions time in the 40 minute interview.

:lmao:

Quite honestly I think all the news stations are very biased in one way or another. Remember the "news casters' are all pundits...NOT REPORTERS, with out any code of Ethics...and 95% of them are failed actors.

Thats cause you have no taste:lmao: popcorn::

Glen Beck can get a little out of control sometimes, to the point that it is comical-He really gets himself all worked up. Glen Beck really brings up good questions that are never addressed in the media.

Do anyone see the clips of the Brian Williams interview with Obama? He was asking about Obama wearing a tie? What kind of question was that? I want to hear questions like: What is his association with Farakahn, has he ever met him? And how many nation of Islam people work for Obama? Also, I need more info on Bill Aryes and his longtime association with both Barack & Michelle Obama. Did Aryes really have a party for Obama?

Bush never fails to sink to the lowest level possible...yeah HRC for denouncing him!!!!!

CA's ban on same-sex marriage was struck down! :thumbsup2
I was about to wade through the enormous thread about that next, that is if I can steel myself for the inevitable fighting about it. I can't see any way that this isn't good news though. :thumbsup2

That is so well said! She's so right and to think that Bush brought up the Nazis in Israel of all places.

Bush is a bush....the green kind. The kind that just sits there and bugs take refuge in away from the sun. Don't know what he was thinking...but than again bush seems to never think. I could have said O well if he made that comment here in the US but over there in Israel during there 60th anniversary....I went    when I heard him say that.

The Rep commentators are trying to say that it was not directed to the Dems or Obama but to other nations who are stating this :confused3 but it was so clear that it was directed here.

I think Bush needs a brain check. He gets more scarier with age.

I also dont feel that McCain is another Bush....dont think there is another Bush anywhere....wish that he did not get more and more scary.

One would've thought all that someone who has had the best of of everything all their lives would, at least, understand, courtesy, respect, and decorum. But that just isn't the Bush.

Btw, it's no great secret Bush's grandfather aided the Nazis through business dealings:

McCain is worse than Bush.

Bush is an arrogant ignoramus.

McCain knows better but flip-flops because he can't get his party's votes if he doesn't.

I dont think anyone is worse than Bush...and the flip flopping from McCain IMO comes from him wanting to appeal to the Regan DEms and Independents yet still try to hold onto the Rep....he has a tough time of it trying to get all to come together for him.

With McCain stretching himself in every direction trying to appeal to so many different types of constituencies I wonder what the real McCain would be like as president. Not that I would really want to find out, LOL! :scared1:
