McCain doesn't remotely fit the bill for me. Most of his party's leadership can't stand him. He won't be able to get anything done IMO.
Hmm, a repub who can't get anything done? Sounds like exactly what I want. A silver lining to my dilemma.

Rumors going around is one of the people who wants to keep HC off the #2 spot is Obama's wife.I really don't understand the logic of Hillary not being on the ticket. This isn't some sort of blow out where Obama won by a landslide and can carry the whole thing by the himself.
If he gets the nom it will be only by a small percentage. To somehow think that almost half the Dem voters are irrelevant is just total arrogance in my book. And I'd say this if the situation was reversed. If Hillary were the one leading by mere percentage points, I would expect her to offer the VP to Obama.
The race is too close and to passionate for them both not to be on the ticket for the general. Because what it really comes down too is that neither one of them has been strong enough to achieve a true majority, but together they'd be unstoppable.

Sigh. There have been plenty of rumors about the Clintons, rumors about the Obama's. At this critical point, I'd hope we were sticking to facts.Rumors going around is one of the people who wants to keep HC off the #2 spot is Obama's wife.
This was posted in a newspaper article with sources in the Obama camp. Obvously nobody is talking yet, but this isn't just a blog or a myspace account.Sigh. There have been plenty of rumors about the Clintons, rumors about the Obama's. At this critical point, I'd hope we were sticking to facts.

She actually said that? Do you remember what interview? I'd really like to see that confirmed.
(or disproved as the case may be.)

Obama Defends His Patriotism, Quarrels With McCain
Wearing a flag lapel pin, Sen. Barack Obama emphasized his patriotism and support for a strong and humane military Monday, while Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton implored West Virginians to sustain her hopes of somehow denying him the Democratic presidential nomination.

Umm...he wears a pin sometimes, and has done so at many other events. He's simply said that he's not wearing it all the time as a statement about patriotism, because he doesn't think it actually says anything about someone's patriotism whether they wear the pin or not.
So?Why not focus on what he had to say instead of his choice of accessories?
