Yep, I do. I think the HS will pull it off for McCain. There are way too many of our core Dem voters who will not vote for the Dem and way too many people who in the end will not be able to vote for a black man.

Well. I think it's still too early to tell, But they say that the first presidential decision is the VP choice, and that it says volumes about the candidate's judgement. I really, really believe that an Obama/Clinton ticket would have been invincible. His faliure in choosing her reafirms his arrogance and petulance on his part.

I have no doubt, none at all that if Hillary had gotten the nom after Obama received millions of votes ahead of any other primary candidate she'd have BO on the ticket (she hinted at that many times) Regardless of her feelings for him, she'd have put party and country ahead and do what's needed to win.

Having said that, I think JMC made a weak choice too (if he chose her, that is). I just don't see Palin pulling too many independents.

This should have been a cake walk for the Dems. And I think if BO loses, the blame should be put not on Hillary supporters. Blame the DNC for screwing things up again

Well it's beyond our turn.

Sooooo... that makes it right? One of my main issues for not voting for Obama is his corruption. I've been waiting for eight years to get a corrupted Bush administration out of the White House and am not going to turn around and vote in a corrupted Obama administration! Seriously, Obama and Bush are a lot alike in several ways and they both scare me!

How do you know he did not choose her? She may very well have said no way early on which is why he didn't vet her.

I heard that she told him to not vet her unless he was seriously considering her. He never seriously considered her so he never vetted her.

Got a source are is this all just rumor?

don't you think IF Obama did want Hillary on the ticket and she said No, he would not make that known to everyone.
He would be able to say to the HS "Hey I asked her to be my VP, she turned it down, what more can I do?"

Being he isn't saying that leads me to believe he NEVER wanted her on the ticket with him, period, even if that means he loses the election, JMO

And that corruption would be what again? I'm sorry, I don't remember him involved in the Keating scandal.

No, I think there's a source but I'd have to find it. I collect information from all over the place so unless I immediately link it - I can't always recall where that info came from.

Please.... no one ever announces who chose not to accept the VP position.....
why would anyone do that...to feed ammo to their opponent..perhaps to become a tv ad/???

It was a joke (hence the wink). But I think you are likely off base with the corruption. I'm NO fan of the republicans....but they are not dumb. And clearly Bill and Hillary Clinton are not so dumb either. They ALL know the game very, very well.
If Obama had anything that dirty (anywhere), it would be out. I LOVED and will always LOVE Bill Clinton. He was/is MY PRESIDENT and he reinforced it the other night.
But if there was ANYTHING of substance against Obama...we'd know by now.
Bill and Hillary and the republican party are not stupid.

Yep, I can see it now, The McCain Presidency will be the fault of the Hillary supporters and the people who are racists  Never mind Obama's dirty politics being a factor.

That racist remark is getting so old. I guess McCain can now say if he doesn't win the election it is because people in the end can not vote for a woman as a VP.

Please, she was never in Obama's top choices! Long before Biden was picked, Hillary was not on his short list.

How about "pajamasmedia.com"? :lmao:

Yes, Hillary and her supporters will get some of the blame and it will come back to haunt her in 4 years should she run again. Most likely we will never see Hillary or Obama in the white house and it will be a loss for all of us who value what the Democratic party stands for.

I have to agree with that as well. It would only be embarassing.

And truthfully. While I expected I would be voting for Hillary, I believe she WOULD have been the VP choice had she not provided fodder for McCains commercials. As smart as she is, she kind of painted herself into a corner by going ALL OUT to win.

Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't Biden had some remarks about Obama's inexperience in the past? I am asking this seriously, because I thought I read something about that. If so then that agruement doesn't work because the McCain camp can use Biden's comment for their commericals.

Hillary was always open about her willingness to br on a combined ticket, so she had already said yes.

Had she declined, Obama's campaigh would be screamin it from the rooftops in order to appease her supporters.

She just was never considered

So Obama's squeaky clean? He's not friends with Ayers or Rezko and he's not currently being underhanded and threatening in trying to hide that association? He got a nice house from being buddies with Rezko - didn't he? He didn't take over 30 grand in campaign money from three guys in Palestine? He isn't back dooring in lobbyist money while pretending that he doesn't deal with them (Oh - did everyone hear about the ABC reporter that was arrested for standing on a public sidewalk in Denver a couple of days ago? The crime: waiting to take pictures of Obama's top donors and lobbyist holding a secret meeting inside. The camera man caught it all on tape). Let's see.. all the people in his old district in Illinois have decent living conditions and he followed through to work on the healthcare for the state of Illinois? I can go on .. but I’m stopping there.

Yeah, he did. I've seen a clip of it and in my opinion it was worse than what Hillary said about Obama.

There are diplomatic ways of announcing things. Saying something like "they talked and agreed that the Senate would be a better place" or something like that.

But they can't say such thing, because she was never considered
