Just threw my vote at Hillary! The tun out in my neighborhood according to the ladies working there is "just ok". I was voter number 163. No idea what that means.

Lots of people tend to go to the polls early before work...at lunch and than most after work. Hmmmm #163 that is very low. Do you live in an area of not so many people or are there many polls in that area. :confused3

I live in Philadelphia, a neighborhood outside Center City. There are A LOT of polling places though.

That could be why. Same here where I live. There were 4 polling places within 1 block of each other.

As most of you know, I am a Hillary supporter. BUT ... she said something yesterday that made me do a "Scooby-Doo" HUH?!? In response to a follow up question about what she would do if Iran used nuclear weapons on Israel she said:

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran (if it attacks Israel)," Clinton said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them," she said.

"That's a terrible thing to say but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic," Clinton said.
I went to Hiroshima, Japan in August last year and it is one of the most moving places I have even been. To literally stand at Ground Zero and know what an atomic bomb can do ... it's really hard for me to describe it. Among other things, I know that I felt overwhelming regret and shame for my country for what we did to so many innocent people.

I firmly believe that nuclear weapons are pure evil, no matter whose hands they are in, ourselves included. And I was hoping that my candidate ... Hillary ... would know and learn that lesson as easily as I have. And now I am not so sure. I am completely disheartened by her cold war, mutually assured destruction, kind of thinking. I don't know what the right response should be if Iran uses nukes on Israel but I know that nuking them until the sand glows is not it and I am sickened down to my bones and my yellow dog heart that Clinton suggested it.

How do you other Hillary Clinton supporters feel? Others may answer, of course, but be aware that I will not pay attention to Conservative opinions or a "pile on" of Obama supporters. I am really just interested in how my fellow Hillary supporters feel which is why I posted here and not another thread.

Same here. I voted around 1:30pm and was the 106th person to vote. :confused3

Since many people here work in NYC, and dont get home till 7:00 maybe they all voted absentee!

Sorry I haven't been on the boards or this thread lately- been sick for the last month.
My husband and I voted this morning around 11AM and we were # 297 and 298, with a line of people behind us.There are two polling places in this township.
The poll workers told me they have been steady all morning.
This is in the Poconos, NorthEast corridor with many new Democratic voters from NY and NJ.
I was disappointed that there was no one from the Hillary Campaign there.
One of the delegates for Barrack was there,I spoke with him and he was very nice, even after I told him, I was sorry but I had already voted for Hillary. There was also a man handing out Barrack Obama for President buttons outside.
If I wasn't in pain from this sciatica/fibromyalgia bout, I would have come home and printed out Pamphlets on Hillary issues from The Women for Hillary site and passed them out.
I know there are still many undecided voters out there.

So, Just checking in, carry on and keep up the good work.

Hugs, Marilyn

PS>When I can sit longer without pain, I plan to go back and read the whole thread.

I just think its part of her "tough enough/no nonesense" strategy. I severely doubt that in this day & age anybody will obliterate anybody.
If it does ever happen...Thats it, its all over.:guilty:

She never said we would nuke them or obliterate them. She said we would be able to obliterate them. It's a fact. Obama never took that option off the table in numerous discussions either. They're saying the same thing and have on many issues. The concept of having nukes as a deterrent doesn't work if you tell people you're not going to use them.

Robin, I'm with you and the thought of using a nuclear bomb is horrifying. But I think that Duckfan is correct. We have to keep the option on the table or they are useless as a preventative. Particularly since Iran seems to have or be about to have nuclear capablities.

And I think that one of the concerns of men is that a woman can't make the tough decision. I think her comments serve to negate that fear. I trust Hillary enough to believe she'd only use that option if it was the very last option available.

After Hiroshima happened it was said that we would never do that again. But at the time it was thought to be the right thing to stop the war. WE have learned what a nuke would do to everyone. I can honestly say I am not sure how I feel about that except that it would be a devastating thing to have happen. I think it would be stopped before that could happen. We would have a world war against Iran it would not be just us going in and stopping them and retaliating.

There are not many except a few leaders that want this to happen. I don't even think Ahmadinejad as crazy as he is would do it because he knows that that would be the end of Iran. Him wanting nukes is a power play however that we don't want him to have:scared: :scared: :scared:

I don't think Hillary or any one would do that. We As a people have come to far to allow it. We are more likely to see more dirty bombs than anything. It was a scary thing growing up with the threat of Russia using them. Hate to go through that again.

All it takes is a few crazies for the rest of the world to want to follow suit to protect themselves from the same. If they have 3 nukes than we must have 5 kinda mentality. But again if they were to nuke Israel than Iran would be wiped off the face of the earth one way or another but not just by us but by the world.

:yay: :yay:

I asked this question a few post back but no one answered. I was wondering if anyone know what time the polls close this evening?

My son has a soccer game from 6pm--7pm Central so I was thinking if the polls are closed by the time we come home I can watch the results come in :)

Where is everyone? :confused3 Pretty quite around here. I just glanced on CNN... they are saying that Obama is scoring big with new Democrats. What are the local news stations reporting?

I just read that Obama already left PA for a rally in Indiana......interesting
