Robin....Glad you went...did you bring DD with you? and have all your Bill dreams been answered....

Thanks for the pictures :thumbsup2 I enjoyed seeing them

Some of you may have noticed that I cooled off and edited my earlier post. I didn't think my the point I was making was worth getting points over. I still feel the same way...I just didn't think it was worth it.

I need to learn to just back away. But it's hard when I'm being peaceful and I feel attacked.

:rotfl2: same here....

I feel ya! :grouphug: I lost it over the same thing in another thread. I just find the comment about "spoonfeeding" so belittling and condesending. I cannot for the life of me understand why it's wrong to want a candidate to talk about the issues.

I agree and that is why I asked him to please refrain from coming in here and insulting us. He has said that he is a Hillary supporter if Obama does not get the nod however, he seems he wants to negativly debate us about her.

He is more than welcome to join us but if he keeps coming in with his sarcastic remarks I will be forced to just put him on ignore....

I'm trying to avoid debate about both Democratic candidates myself. I just want to discuss both Hillary's and Obama's strengths and weaknesses because it's so vital to get one of them elected.

Oh my, I just love those pictures of Bill Clinton! It looks like they plan to focus on the heavily Hispanic areas and I can't really blame them. I still hope to catch a glimpse of one of the Clintons up here in north Texas though.

As far as I'm concerned anyone is welcome if they can be nice. :confused3 I just don't like for anyone to talk down to me. I don't even do that to my bitter enemy. Wait a minute, I don't think I have a bitter enemy. :rotfl: I think Democrats need to pull together instead of attacking each other.

Exactly!!! It's funny how so many see it differently but I saw Hillary constantly being attacked and Obama praised on the Liberal thread. I don't want to see either one attacked but it felt all lopsided to me. :confused3

That is why I started this thread so we could spread our love here :rotfl2:

I saw Bill Clinton speak at the University of Wisconsin today. The boy still has it :cool1:! He has quite the silver tongue, but I forgot how LONG WINDED he can be. Still, he was great :lovestruc. He spoke for 75-90 minutes and covered a lot of Hillary's views on things.

Bill was at the UW Stock Pavilion where the livestock shows are held on campus. There are pigs in the basement, sawdust on the floor and the place STINKS. It was not a very presidential place and I hope they get a better venue for Hillary. There were between 1,000 and 2,000 people there.

Anyway ... here are some pictures. I took them with my DD's camera which is not good indoors. Sorry for the blurry pictures.

And here are some crowd shots while he was shaking hands. I tried to go down to see him and he ended up shaking the hands of the people around me. *sigh* So, I missed out shaking his hand.

In all, a great speech and it did it's job. I am now officially on the fence. Gotta dig up a Clinton thing-y for my signature. At least until next Wednesday, LOL!

Love your pictures! We helped out on her campaign here in New Hampshire. I got some great photos from election night, we were standing right behind Bill and Chelsea. I was to busy having Bill sign my poster that I forgot to get a picute of him with my son. Then a couple of weeks later my husband found a picture on one of the new sites of Bill talking with my son.

I was torn on who to support last year and after seeing and meeting both candidates a few times, I really found Hillary to have more substance with her plans. I also think that she will be able to fight off the republican machine better than he will.

I am begining to think she has more substance too ... but I disagree on your other point. I think the hatred of her on the right is so ingrained and automatic it will be difficult to overcome. I hope that's not considered bashing because I really do like her.

As has already been pointed out, what is left in her closet? There isn't going to be any bombshells.

A key fundraiser for Obama goes on trial in March. He has ties to the Gov. and is accused of trying to extort money for his campaign in exchange for favors. He's had a relationship with Obama for 20 years. He bought a lot next to him the same day Obama bought his house for $300,000 below market value.

I've been reading this stuff in the local paper here for years. It was just a matter of time when his trial started. It's going to be going on for months, I'd guess.

This offended me on the other thread and it still offends me here.

*snip*

Please don't take offense at what I wrote, as it was obviously not intended for someone that has done their homework. You articulated a very good reason for Obama to become more policy specific in his speeches, and one that I don't disagree with. However, you are not one that has been saying how he is "all talk and no substance". You simply couldn't be, since you've obviously read his policy plans so you know differently. There's a big difference between saying that you'd like him to talk more about those plans in a specific way because of A, B, and C, and those (one in particular) saying they "don't know what he stands for".

So please, don't take offense at that comment. If you've done your homework on Barack and have chosen to support Hillary, then I have no beef with you. But from certain posters comments, they simply can't be bothered to do more than watch the 30 second clips that are on the news every night, and yes, I find that ridiculous.

Exactly!!! It's funny how so many see it differently but I saw Hillary constantly being attacked and Obama praised on the Liberal thread. I don't want to see either one attacked but it felt all lopsided to me. :confused3

It was a discussion about the differences between the candidates. It turned into complaining by one particular individual, who then posted several direct attacks on Obama, all of them lies. Yes, the discussion got a bit heated after that, but there were no "attacks" on Hillary. NONE. The worst that was said about her was that she was a divisive candidate, and I think it's ridiculously evident that that is true, even within the party.

Who said anything about bombshells? I'm talking about people who hate Hillary because that's what Rush (and the other right wing blow hards) told them to do eight, ten, twelve years ago. The right doesn't need skeletons when they can just whisper her name and they get their desired reaction.

I just went to Cafe Press to "steal" a Hillary bumper sticker for my signature. Go there and type "Hillary Clinton" and you'll see what I mean.

I understand that. BUt these people ain't voting for Obama either. (People that listen to Rush. Etc.)

If I were running against Obama I'd go after the idea that he's 'new school' and different than everyone else. That's what he's selling. If HC brings it up, it comes across as negative campaigning to the Dem base.

McCain isn't going to be appealing to that group as much as mods and reps. He isn't going to care. From what I understand Rove is all in on his team.

If the concept that Obama is squeeky clean and is going to fix Washington starts to erode, what is left? If you think HC has more substance in the debates, it's prob a lot harder to topple over.

No, but they will come out to vote against her "just because". I think there will be a far bigger backlash of anti-Hillary voting than anti-Obama voting.

We (the Dems) fell into that trap last election - vote for Kerry - he's electable.

Look where that got us.......

Problem is - that is just a perception people have about Senator Clinton - we have no idea whether its a reality. And like others have said - Obama is not a done deal as president - he has not taken a beating yet that the Republicans will dole out.....

Dean was rejected for Kerry because of the electibility issue - who is President now? ;)

I had no say in that election. It was all over by the time I was able to vote. Once he wrapped up the nomination I was behind Kerry all the way and there was no "nose holding" involved for me. I do think that Dean was sabotaged in that election but I personally liked Wes Clark. It means a lot to me that he supports Hillary.

FWIW, ask folks from Michigan and Florida what they think about Dean now. I love his "50 state" policy in the DNC, but I still can't believe that the DNC disenfranchised all those voters from 2 out of the 50 :sad2:.
