Woohoo Dee!!! I finally got caught up after being away for sooooo long. As usual, your TR is fantastic. I'll have to follow the one about Universal/IoA as well. I agree with your comment that IoA is better than Universal but now that they're adding Diagon Alley at Universal..... (Can I say those words in a WDW TR or is that blasphemy? ) I finally started my TR back up so if you get a chance, sashay on over!

I haven't been on the Backlot Tours in so long! We didn't get to do it on our last trip so it was nice to see pics from yours! It seemed like those dark skies were around for so long that week so glad you were able to escape it for a little while. Our pool seemed to be closed most of week because of it too.
We LOVE T-Rex, especially EJ (of course!) We were seating in the ice room last time we went which is so cool! (Hee, hee bad pun) I love the lighting they do in there and the asteroid show. The food is pretty good there as well. We definitely had more then we could eat!

I remember your report from T-Rex. What day were you there? We were Wednesday July 17. Even though Ben's dino obsession has waned, this is still a must-do for him. There's no age limit for enjoying delicious and plentiful food!

Except for the Pearl Harbor and Catastrophe Canyon part of the BLT, I don't think the attraction is all that exciting for young kids as you walk or drive through a bunch of props that are not all that meaningful for them.

The American Film Institute display in the dump shop is pretty cool though. They have some awesome costumes and set pieces (not sure how authentic, but whatever) from movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars.

Good to see you back here. Thanks for the kind words about my report.

I have updates on the Hard Rock Hotel and Universal Studios completed, but I haven't reported about Islands of Adventure yet. Not sure when I will get to that, but it is such a fun park. YES, you may mention the Park That Shall Not be Named here on the Disney TR boards

I will definitely be checking out your report. I have been curious about how your trip was and I can't wait to see your pictures! It will take me awhile to catch-up, though, because... well, see my next post.

FYI- I will be away on vacation next week so I won't be making any updates to my report and I will be getting even MORE behind on everyone else's!


We are making our 4th trip to the Barceló Maya in Mexico- awesome all-inclusive resort with beautiful beaches and excellent snorkeling. Highly recommended if you are considering a tropical vacation- I have pictures in a couple of my trip reports from our trip last year and 2011.

I'll be checking in a few more times, but I want to wish everyone a great week!!!

I love T-Rex!!! I just made a reservation there yesterday for our post cruise day. I can't wait to go back. We sat right next to the ice cave last time and enjoyed it, but i would LOVE the table you had. I thought the fish area was so neat.

We actually did Rainforest Cafe on our summer trip. I think our Downtown Disney day was at the beginning of our trip, like Sunday, I think. The last time we did T-Rex was when we went in December 2011. So EJ has let me know that on our next trip we HAVE to go back to T-Rex!

Oh, and BTW have some fun in the sun for me! So sick of winter, Bleh!!

I'm baaaaccckkkk!!!

We had a fantastic time in Mexico! Great weather- there was a one minute threat of rain one day with a couple of sprinkles, but that was it.

Still organizing pictures from 5 separate memory cards from 4 cameras, so once I have my thoughts and photos pulled together, I'll share a bit with everyone.

I frequent a discussion board for the resort we stayed at an I will be doing a trip report there. I'll either post it here too, or at least links. Working title is "No cameras died in the making of this vacation"

This is a reference that in each of our 3 previous trips to this resort, one of my cameras has died. Fortunately, we did not suffer similar casualties this year!!!

Hope you got out ok on Tuesday and had a great visit to Florida with decent weather. We had no problem getting out and in fact was the first time in 3 years that our plane didn't need to be de-iced.

You have had such a miserable winter!!! It was a good week for us to be away with significant snow back home on Saturday and Tuesday. For a change, it was in the 40's when we landed in Boston on late afternoon on Saturday.

We enjoy the food and atmosphere at T-Rex. The meals are expensive but portions are huge and the setting is totally over-the-top!

Dee, glad you had a great trip!
I thought we weren't gonna make it out on Tuesday it was snowing hard. We were delayed about an hour bc they needed to plow runways. Our plane was hovering above waiting for a while. Then they needed to de ice plane too. What a pain!!!
We are leaving tonight at 6. The flights over the weekend were too expensive!! Hope we make it home on time. Crossing my fingers.

Welcome back Dee! I saw a preview of your trip photos on FB. It looks like it was a wonderful trip. (The comic pre-Mexico trip was perfect!)

I've never eaten at T-Rex but we've wandered through the store and seen where they have the big sand pit of bones - if I recall correctly. It's been a few years so instead of saying that I'm old and the memory is fading, I'll just say that I was in a vacation fog. It's real you know!

That is great that you were seated in the fishie part of the restaurant! It looks like very similar photos of what I saw on FB, how coincidental. And I'm sure you know the names of all those guys. I identify them in classifications of "colorful" "plain" or "gawd is that a man eater!"
