Hijinks & Shenanigans but not much Mayhem@The Dark Side+Disney:Link to DL/Hawaii TR

I love this trail too Dee. Sadly it seems more and more people are finding out about it's existence as they are becoming more crowded than they used to be I think.

I really enjoy watching the bats. They're just... fascinating.

WOW, the tiger came right over to you. Pretty cool.

Ninja Post! Sorry I missed this when I posting earlier.

The trail was not very crowded when we were there around 10:30 or so. I really like that there are a few spots at AK where you can chill and hang around at your own pace. While you are waiting for a FP to come due! :lmao:

The bats are cool to watch. Do they ever fly? They were just eating while we were there.

The tiger was pacing in front of the window. Back and Forth. So we were able to anticipate where he was going to be.

:)

What a great update. I am with you...love the lizards.

I skipped right through your bat pictures (NOT A FAN AT ALL!).

What terrific tiger pictures you got. We have yet to see them up and walking.

That's fine that you skipped the bat pictures. Now, if I recall correctly, Disney recognizes that not everyone is a bat-man or bat-girl and you can actually bypass this exhibit entirely.

We were very lucky the tiger was up and about. We usually have the same experience as you, the tigers are just lazing around, especially when it is really warm.

I don't think it was miserably hot that day.

:goodvibes

Your tiger pictures are amazing! I can give lizards a miss, but I think bats are fun to watch. They have cute faces too!

We've not spent much time at AK on our last couple of trips, but your pictures are reminding me that we need to spend a day there (or a morning with a water park afternoon) on our next trip.

Thanks!

AK is the park where we spend the least amount of time. We considered skipping it on this trip, but I'm really glad we went. It was a really nice morning.

:goodvibes

The M-trek is my favorite too (except for the gorillas). I totally agree. I think they are are SOOOOO COOOOOOL! You got some great shots of the tigers. I'm a cat person too! There is a big cat rescue in Tampa which I would love to see but you can only get in there once a day (3pm during the weekdays) so I'm not sure if its going to happen.

Belated Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the Christmas wishes!

I know you are a cat person!

Thanks for sharing the info about the Tampa cat rescue place. Sounds interesting.

The tiger was really cooperating with us!

:cat:

:rotfl2:We definitely love our trifle here lol:rotfl:

Love the tiger pictures -don't mind bats as long as they stay away from me!!:rotfl:

I bet your trifle was fantastic!

Thanks for the comment about the tiger photos.

Same here with the bats. They are pretty fascinating. From a distance.

Hi Dee! Loved Ben's adorable letter. I hope you told him that as long as he doesn't go above 17,000 feet it's ok! Isn't he your kid that did the Disney trip power point presentation? He's a thinker and a planner - he'll do well in life! :thumbsup2

Ha ha ha! That bat in the bedroom story with Mark!! I'm ok with bats as long as they are just hanging there but if they fly my way EEEEK! Ok, not sure why I have that fear since I've never seen a bat outside AK! :lmao: They do fascinate me though.

I didn't know that story behind the Maharajah Jungle Trek but like everything that Disney creates there is a story. I agree with you, those tigers are fascinating and my favorite part of the trail. Seriously beautiful creatures but I wouldn't want to admire their beauty without that glass wall between us.

Thank you for dropping by with your kind Christmas greeting. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas as well. :goodvibes

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
We are enjoying our Christmas Disney trip despite the crowds. We had prepped the kids before we left and told them we weren't gonna be able to ride much. :( It's actually been a LITTLE better than I expected.

Back to your TR- I really like that trail too. You got some awesome pics of the tigers!!
I would totally freak out if a bat flew in my window!! I don't blame Mark for screaming like a girl LOL

You are correct Brenda! Power Point is Ben's primary propoganda tool! That absolutely was the cutest note and I laughed so much I cried when I read it.

We see bats flying around here at dusk, and the place we go in Mexico has bats flying in the caves (cenotes) we swim through, but having one IN the house was a little too close for comfort.

The amazing details and backstories Disney creates are one of the things that puts them so far ahead of every other theme park. I just recently discovered the story behind the SAB and the Shipwreck slide at the Yacht & Beach Club and posted it over on the FAQ.

Thank you for the Christmas wishes. We appreciate it!

:santa:

Thank you!

This is the first time you have been at Disney during the holidays isn't it!

I would love to experience the beautiful decorations! The crowds, not so much!

I hope you are having a wonderful time. I've heard it has been a bit soggy, so I hope the weather clears up for you.

We were so happy to see the tiger up close!

:goodvibes

Yes, It is our first Christmas trip. We are having a good time. It was my DH's b-day Sat. and we had an amazing dinner at Cali Grill. I ordered him a beautiful Mickey football themed cake. And we watched Holiday Wishes after. It was a great night!!!
We are heading over to the BC after DH gets out of work to see the carousel, then over to DTD for dinner.

Happy belated Birthday to your DH! Dinner sounds awesome!

Have fun checking out the BC. Wish I was there! :goodvibes

Happy New Year to your family!

Dee, I just wanted to pop in while I had a second and wish you and your family a very

I missed wishing you a Merry Christmas but I can still tell you HAPPY NEW YEAR! (okay so now I'm a day or two early but it's the thought that counts. :rotfl:)

I agree that the Maharajah Jungle Trek is great! I love looking at all of the animals and the beautiful murals and buildings. The theming is so well done.

As far as bats go, I'm not a fan but I'm not afraid of them either. We do have little bats that fly about around out house catching all of the flying bugs. I can only imagine what our flying insect population would be without the bats. :sad2:

Thank you so much Kathy!

One of the things I am really thankful for in 2013 is that I found you as a friend.

Happy New Year!

Thanks so much for the holiday greetings! I appreciate it!

Happy New Year!

I love your traditional pictures in the Maharajah trail.

I remember that the tigers were pretty active for you on your last trip.

I think that's a pretty good attitude towards bats- Don't love 'em, but love what they do!

:lmao:

Wishing everyone a GREAT year!

Thank you for joining my family on our adventures last year and for sharing your lives and journeys with us!

What a great wish! :goodvibes

Right back at you, too.

For now, we have Disneyland in July and hopefully Ben's class trip in June 2015. Mark is considering chaperoning with me. Apparently, he didn't read my "Wicked Awesome or Epic Fail" trip report closely enough.

:lmao:

I just found this comic strip when I was tidying up. This was going to be included in my Here Kitty Kitty (Maharajah Trail) update:

Happy new year, Dee!
I love the Maharajah Jungle Trek too, that's a great back story. I've never heard that before! I'm also a bat fan! Here in Nova Scotia we had a bat disease outbreak and there was a lot of concern over falling bat populations. We here on the island weren't affected as much, but we were asked to report any bat sightings. We ended the year on a good note though and populations are going back up. :thumbsup2 I have a bat who lives just behind the horse barn.
I get mesmerized by the tigers, I could watch them forever. Great pictures of the trek!

I used to find Bats creepy, but as i have grown up I don't mind them either. We usually have several in the summer flying over the pond and my thinking is there goes another mysquito! :thumbsup2

I really ahve not taken a lot of time on the trails and I vowed to do it last trip and didn't. hopefully this year I make the time to do so.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: I LOVE it!

Glad you enjoyed the comic with the bats, even if you do not care for the critter.

:rotfl:

Happy New Year to you and Johnny, too!

The bat colony collapse is really scary to think about since bats are such an important part of the ecosystem and they are great insect consumers.

The tigers are my favorite!

As long as the bats stay a reasonable distance away, they are ok in my book.

I really enjoy the Maharajah trek, especially since we missed it on our first few trips to AK.

I do hope you make it when you are there in the spring.

:thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Love this:rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed the funny.
