There was a nice person who asked about a new to me car almost a month ago. I was also in the process of saving for a car and read her thread. CJ's Mommy showed pictures of her Pacifica and said how happy she was with her car.

I checked it out and the safety record was great on this car. It had everything I wanted so here is my new to me car.

I know it has been two weeks but the car came home and went straight to the body shop. Then we got it out and went across state to an autism conference. Then it has rained everyday this week. So in 3 days this is the second washing. The name broke when they took it off to paint so it was replaced with a Mickey Head!

Thanks to Dave Ramsey this car is the first one I have ever paid cash for. It really is my car.

It is a Chrysler Pacifica.

There she is my F-150 POS in the background.

Dashboard. It has a navigation system.

It says it seats 7 but I think 6. I like the far back seats down so I can put stuff in it.

Drivers door, look at all the buttons for my seat!

Congrats on the car!!

Where do you live??? I wold LOVE to wake up with that view in the background!!!!

That was my thread!

Love the mickey head!! too cute.

Congrats on your PAID FOR vehicle. It's sooo cute! Love it!!

My friend sold his within a week so it worked out for him too.

We're saving up for a 2005 Honda Odyssey EX-L LOADED...I want it all baby...navigation, DVD, moon roof. Woo Hoo. We're hoping we can save until October.

Let's hope my van will make it....it's still rattling a little and then I hit a curb and put a hole in my tire. $100 there.. UGH...now it's running weird...hoping I didn't mess up the axle or whatever.

Also drooling over your view!! Here in the middle of Indiana we don't see much more than mole hills. ;)

Hi Again,

I hoped you would post. CJ's mommy asked me if you got a new to you car yet.

Your odessy sounds wonderful. Loaded is great! This one has more things on it that I still don't know how it all works but I did get to use the navigation system when I crossed the state to a new town. I took it for over 800 miles for the first trip. Keep saving, it feels wonderful to pay $$. It will be even better when you find the perfect one for your family. If you had not started your thread I would still be saving. Instead I have this pretty shinny car in the garage.

It is raining again so in the brief period of clearing I washed it for the 2nd time in 3 days.

I told DH I don't even think of the view anymore, it is just what I see when I wake up. I am going to try to be more grateful for the blessing I have. We call it poverty with a view. It is the Rocky Mountain West.

I just made this to stop DS from ruining the back of seat. It has room for books, DVD's and more junk.

I drive a 1993 pontiac grand prix, and I have driven it for 10 years now. I have even seen it thru a new motor, and its still going. I would love to have a new car, but it is still going so, I 'm still driving it.. kind of embarassing, but, what can you do???We have a beautiful home that I am fortunate to have in a beautiful neighborhood. Dh is laid off and has been for 6 weeks, so no new car in the immediate future. A car payment just wouldn't do right now.

Anyway-I have always wanted a Chrysler Pacifica, but DH isn't sure about Chrysler longevity, needless to say once we buy we hang onto it for awhile, lol. Does anyone have one that has been around for awhile?

Halesmom,

You are just plain smart to be driving what you have and not going into debt. As you can I had a 1990 F-POS but she was great.

Sorry about the lay off of your DH. I hope things turn around for your family. This car was paid for the Dave Ramsey way and I saved with goal for a car. It is used. I don't know what will happen with Chrysler? I know we will be able to get parts though. I also go to private mechanic if my husband can't fit it. That was on my old truck. This car looks scarry on the engine side.

You are smart to not have debt of car loan and again, prayer for your family.

Before kids we were avid skiers. DH and I almost just up and moved to Colorado but we decided to stick near family [aka 'free babysitters']...I often wonder though....STUNNING.

Still don't have the Odyssey I just have been researching and decided that's what I want. Hopefully we'll be able to get it when this one dies.

Love the seat organizer.

Did I mention that I hit a curb with this stupid car ... just a stupid rubber neck moment....well I had to spend $100 on a new tire and now find out that I hit hard enough to damage something under it....luckily DH is handy but it's still going to be a couple hundred. I'm so mad at myself.

Sigh.

I had a 1997 Pontiac Montana van with 170,000 miles on it. I was happy with it - No payment for 5 years and still running. But, hubby felt it was unsafe due to miles and the engine light that had been on for 2 years ( checked and cleared every oil change with a transmission slip code). I started looking for a replacement last summer. Hubby wanted to buy a new one -Eeeeek!!! He even came to my work with 3 different ones for me to drive. No go. I actually found a 2005 Saturn Vue on Craigslist. The guy has a large farm and also loves body work, so he buys vehicles that have some damage, fixes them and sells them. We drove the Vue but was not impressed. A 2006 Pacifica was there with dealer plates. Asked if it was up for sale and test drove it. It had 20,000 miles and was a car from National Car rental. We got it for 12,500.00!! It booked for 22,000.00!! VERY new to me and I absolutely love it. Sold the van and a couple of other things. Loan for 7,000.00 for 3 years. Very doable. Probably pay off in a year. We are now looking for a car for one of our daughter through the same guy. Love that find.
To OP: I lived in Missoula, MT for 10 years. Miss the mountains terriblly.

Thanks so much! I guess I should have made myself more clear, lol, given the economy and how car manufacturers are being dealt blows nowadays. I meant DH is unsure of the car itself's longevity, and we were wondering if they hold up after many miles.

Thanks so much for your well wishes and prayers. I'm very optimistic we'll be fine :goodvibes BTW, also very jealous of your view

WOW, that would be great!! I wish we would run into something like that. To be able to pay cash again for a car would be awesome (we did for our current one) Honestly, we've never had a car payment at all, and not wishing to have one ever, lol. When the time is right, I hope we get as lucky as you:worship: (praying);)

We have a 2006 Pacifica AWD loaded with all the options that we bought new back in May, 2006. We love the car, it has been great. Not high mileage yet though. DH drives it mostly around town so we are just at 26,000 miles on it.

Inkmahm - I can't believe you only have 26,000 miles. I am so impressed. I bought my 2008 Pacifica in Dec 07 and have 29,000 miles on it.

I love the car. However, DH was very adamant that I not buy it. He felt the quality was poor and the design poor. I bought the Pacifica Walter P. Chrysler Signature Series with all the bells and whistles. When I bought it new there was no antenna so the radio didn't work (FM and AM). They installed one the next week and all was fine with that. I've had a few issues with transmission noises and tires rubbing. I guess it is a new car working out kinks. At 22,000 both engine mounts had to be replaced. Evidently Chrysler came out with a new design that is liquid filled that is not very durable. However, I would not trade my car for any other (well perhap my exact one yes but only for another Pacifica.
