Highway in the Sky Dine Around with Wishes viewing area

Absolutely!!!!!

The first course they made her a bisque with coconut milk instead of cream. She loved it!!!! She was a little skeptical when he said coconut milk, but she said she didn't taste any coconut. Trader Sams she was served a cold app without the goat cheese and cream. The hot app was already dairy free. The entree she had potatoes instead of the purée and she had no sauce on her scallops. She got the special board at the Tea Room. And they did a dairy free dessert plate for her with chocolate cake and a pumpkin panacotta. They always knew they had someone with an allergy, but they weren't always sure who. But, they do use regular servers who we told at every stop and they handle it. There was also someone that had a truffle allergy (or she didn't like it) and that was also accommodated.

They called everyone a couple of days before and asked that you called them with any allergies or if you were unable to climb a flight of stairs. That's how we learned that the entire event is actually run from the Contemporary Special Events Department.

WOW! That is absolutely amazing, thank you for sharing, I'm even more excited now!

DS and I are going to this.
He said wouldn't it be cool if part of the whole monorail theme ..
...they just stopped it to watch Wishes up Main Street.
I said it will never happen ...............

He just texted me ............... haha.

The monorail is stopped and watching IllumiNations

Just wanted to add my thumbs up on the event! I was part of Friday night's group and had a spectacular time! Well worth the money and I'm crossing my fingers it's available when we go back next fall! The only thing I would suggest is for attendees to make a concerted effort to drink water. It's available for asking everywhere, but you have to remember to ask for it. I went as a single and it was very comfortable. Everyone I met was super friendly! The only disappointment was they wouldn't give seconds on the pork belly appetizer!

If this was answered I apologize.

I am assuming at the stops they have reserved tables for the event.

Do they sit groups of folks together or do are they seated by bookings?

Monorail came back up. It actually all went flawlessly. They took us up the emergency exit stairs at contemporary and held one car for us. Poly we used the exit door and got to bypass the line and board a reserved car. At GF they actually took us up to the platform on the Express side and stopped that train with a reserved car.

Just curious if anyone saw accessible options, they probably exist? Putting this on my bucket list.

:duck:
I hope it becomes regular.
I hope each season the menu changes.
I hope they find way to shake up order so different views.
I hope they can make it work at Epcot.
I hope they can make it work at Epcot resorts, and maybe a boat in to Illuminations.
I see lots of opportunity here and I will be happy to try them all.
:duck:
oh yes! So many guests have been doing this for years but how special to enjoy it with a group of fellow Disney fans coordinated by Disney!

They are reserved sections with tables. It's open seating. At Citricos, we were sat by the host stand. There was a table of 10, a table of 5, and then I'm not sure of the rest because we were part of that table, lol!!!! But even that was seated by the order you happened to be in. We sat with different people the entire time.

They took the elevator. Sometimes they went ahead, but only by a minute. It never slowed the group down, getting 20 people up or down a flight of stairs takes the same amount of time as getting 4 people up or down an elevator.

@yulilin3

Maybe add to info since seating style was a question and may impact some's decision to book.

While we had tables reserved for the entire group, we weren't assigned to particular tables at any location. I know I tended to stay with the people I met at the Contemporary - but that was mostly because we got on so well! Even at Citricos, we were seated, but it was mostly by whom you happened to be standing next to in line. We were in a group of 4 that was taken behind the 5 - so that must have left a table of 5 after us...

Thank you. We were wondering.

It didn't seem likely, say 12 couples booked, that they would tie up 12 tables.
It makes more sense to group and fill tables. This makes sense.

BUT, some folks don't like sitting with strangers. So this is great info.
It may change someone's mind on booking this.

A group this small, like Dining with the Imagineer, makes sense with communal.

Driving this am, I was thinking about this. Small group, intimate setting, conversation ........... and seated together with possibility of different combinations at different stops .....................

I love lanyards and keep all mine (and think they should stay)............... but it would be nice, if like Dining with Imagineer, we also got name tags. So as you visit and move around you aren't trying to keep all the names you just learned straight in your head. Especially for us folks who are terrible with names.

Just an idea ............ Disney

for many many many years now, people have been getting "miffed" if a prime viewing area for Illuminations has been roped off for a private party. This isn't anything new. I do not believe that the 4th floor deck at the Contemporary is reserved for guests of the Contemporary or BLT. Anybody could go in and sit there if it is open. According to the reviews here they don't even reserve the entire deck, just part of it (but oh no, they took the good section.) Still the complaints. Or more accurately, the forecasting that BLT and CR guests will vociferously complain.

I wonder if they've set up a contingency for monorail breakdowns. Will the guests be transported in buses? Maybe they should delete the word Sky from their advertising.:sad2:

That was the first thought I had as well. I mean honestly, what are the chances that a customer would actually get to "dine around the Lagoon" without at least one monorail issue...

Apparently they do keep a boat on standby. I hope they have spare boats and haven't taken that one out of the regular schlub fleet for the evening.

Do they pipe in music there?

Just read through this thread (the event sounds awesome!) and maybe I missed someone answering this already, but I can confirm that they do pipe the music in on the BLT/CR bridge, at least they did in 2014 when we were last there.

Laughing Place is doing tonight's crawl.

Already posting some pictures and assume review coming asap.
