Governor Scott made a tough but financially smart decision, according to many Florida residents.

And a very stupid decision according to many other FL residents.

Governor Scott essentially made the right decision for the wrong reasons. Florida still really needs passenger rail development - but starting with "conventional" intercity trains on incrementally improved freight shared right-of-way.

The defunct Florida high-speed rail proposal was ill concieved from the beginning.
