Got home on Saturday night from a flying visit. Got the tickets from the Sun and then booked hotel and Eurotunnel separately myself.

Characters - again over a short period we saw loads. Mickey, Pinocchio, Gepetto, Tigger, Minnie, Pluto, Gideon, Eeyore, Donald, Goofy, Snow White & Dopey, Mary Poppins & Bert, Aladdin & Jasmine, and a few others I can't remember now. As before they were brilliant with my little girl who is only 21 months old and was beside herself with excitement at meeting all of them. Minnie in particular in Café Mickey made such a fuss of her and the fact that they had the same dress on.
Hotel Cheyenne - Have always loved the theming in this hotel and I couldn't get over how close it was to walk to the parks. I always got the bus when I stayed there before but it was quicker to walk it to be honest! It helped that we were in Running Bear though.
DLH Breakfast - As fabulous as last time and great value. Recommend to anyone.
EMH - We got on every ride that was open before 9.30am and then went for breakfast in the DLH while everyone else started piling in. Definitely worth getting up early for.
Hakuna Matata - Can't believe that in 20 years of visiting this park I have never eaten in this restaurant. Food was brilliant. We all had the chicken strips and Hakuna fries, yummy! Will definitely be going back.
Weather - It was cold (oh so cold) but it was bright and sunny so we had a great time.

Cast Members not singing from the same hymn sheet - In the end it worked in my favour but it would be really very very helpful if they could just teach them all the same responses! We booked a character breakfast for Saturday morning to give my DD a last meeting with her beloved characters. When I booked it with the front desk in Café Mickey I asked the lady if I could get shareholder discount off the amount. She said no because it was already discounted as I was staying in one of the hotels. (By the way none of the prices on DLRP Magic were applicable - or at least not to me) Fine I thought, not a problem. When we arrived Saturday morning and had to pay before we were seated I thought I would ask again. This time the guy (a supervisor I imagine as he used his own card to apply the discount) said yes and gave me the discount! I've had this issue before with regards to the Under 3 eating. I don't understand why they can't just have a general rule and everyone stick to it!! As I said wasn't a low just a sort of 'huh'?

Café Mickey Service - Our waiter was terrible. Truly truly awful. We sat for about forty minutes before our order was taken. No drinks, no bread, nothing. Thank God for the characters! I had ordered a birthday cake for my MIL whose birthday is tomorrow, he didn't register this at all and we waited a full 30 minutes after our main meal had been cleared away waiting for it to come out. Then when he did bring it out he set it (burning candles and all) on my DD's highchair tray. I managed to get it away before she stuck her face in or touched it, only just in time though as her hand was already reaching out for it. I had told them when I ordered it that the cake was for a 57 year old, what's the point of them asking if they don't take any notice of it??!! When we were there in November our waiter was great so I think this was another case of my medium above. It depends on who you get.
All in all we had a fantastic time. I know there were some other niggly things but to be honest I can't remember them so they can't have been that bad! It was my MIL and SIL first ever visit and they both really enjoyed themselves which was great. However, the star of my show was my DD who loved every single second of it all. Her excitement at meeting the characters was the whole reason I crammed this trip in, her little face was worth it all.
Have to wait a while for the next trip now though as baby no.2 is due on 23rd June and we'll have to watch the pennies for a while.
