Just got back.

The Highs: First DIY trip worked perfectly.

Dodge Magnum is a nice car and handles very sporty (once the tank is less than half full !!).

Weather was perfect the whole 2 weeks - not one drop of rain.

Picnic amongst the squirrels at Coquina Beach, Longboat Quay.

The Winter Park scenic boat tour - just as good as we remebered it. Some very nice mansions on Oceola Lake (where did I put that $6m)

Expedition Everest & Etreme stunt show - excellent new additions

Regency Club floor at the Grand Cypress - worth the extra.

Epcot Food and Drink festival - adds loads of atmosphere (and people)

Lows: Not much really

Soarin -ok but not hugely exciting - like a "circle-o-vision" sat in a swing chair.

Driving - Several outrageous near misses including being overtaken on the outside whilst turning left on I-Drive. :sad2: What has happened to courteous American drivers ??

British abroad - why do so many dress like they live out of a cardboard box ?? Spot em a mile off - so different to other nationalities (especially the Americans)

Welcome home! :wave2: Sounds like you had a great time! Do you have any photos you can share with us?

I think the standard of driving has got worse each year we have been to be honest, it is nothing like as enjoyable as it used to be.

Welcome home ~ Sounds as though you had a fantastic time :)

Wecome back

Glad you had a great tripand the DIY worked out for you

Welcome back - sound like you had a great time. I am right in the middle of packing (we leave on Friday), and in light of your comments about us Brits, I have now taken out a few of my more "comfortable" scruffs and am off to M&S to smarten up my wardrobe (any excuse to spend :thumbsup2 )

Enjoyed reading your notes and was pleased to hear you'd enjoyed the Scenic boat tour. I've not done it for years but intend doing it again next month. :sunny:

I am not sure I understand one of your lows. Are you saying we Americans dress better than tourists from the UK? I always thought we were known for being kind of sloppy while Brits and other Europeans dress more smartly.

I know when I was in London last year my own mother refused to sight see with me unless I ditched the jeans! We are going on the DCL Med cruise next year and I am already worrying about how I can get my sloppy son and DH to dress a bit nicer while we sight see in Rome, eg.

I don't even want to tell you how they dress at DW or on the cruise...It took a lot of work for me to get them dressed nicely on formal night!

Sounds like you had a great time, I love the Regency Club at HRGC.

Which car hire company did you use??? The dodge Magnum sound good to me.?

Glad you had a great time.
One small point for anybody trying to find it, Coquinas Beach is on the southern end of Anna Marie Island rather than on Longboat Key.

Welcome back, I will be sure we are dressed suitably, wouldn't want to let the Brits down ;)
