Highs:
- The weather was fantastic
- The DCR looked great in the sunshine, and had a really nice atmosphere. We had a cabin upgrade on arrival (inc. chocolate coins and bottles of water), and enjoyed a few hours in the pool one day which we almost had to ourselves.
- The DCR buffet & barbecue. A great meal, which worked out to just over 60 euros with some cheap meal vouchers I'd bought via ebay + shareholder's discount
- 20% off a meal at Restaurant des Stars using a birthday ticket. Not as good as the DCR buffet, and theming average, but quite a nice meal.
- The parks looked great, and you had a sense that everything was up and running properly compared to reports of excess restaurant closures etc., the previous month.
- CM's generally very helpful and polite. We saw one incident of 'queue jumping' (actually, someone had just opened a gate on BTM which allowed people to cut straight into the fastpass queue. The CM's spotted it very quickly, and ejected a lot of people who had taken the shortcut.
- Taking a risk on the Autopia queue! We've avoided it for years because of the lengthy queues. However, although it always suggested we'd be waiting at least 60 minutes, we rode 3 times, and didn't wait longer than half an hour. My youngest (8 years old) was so thrilled to be driving her own car
- Dreams
Lows:
Nothing serious....
- At the DCR I'd booked an older style 2 bed cabin, because the upgrades are soooo tight for space! However, they didn't have any left to 'downgrade' us to. Didn't really matter as we were only staying for 3 nights and the full size fridge freezer and air con is a bonus.
- Salon Mickey. 1st day, they queried the numbers (family of six), but allowed us in. It was heaving though, so we didn't stop long. Day two, just 3 of us visited, and were told at the door that "all of the treats were gone, so did we still want to come in?" lol. If they're going to do it, they should really try and do it properly.....ideally they need a slightly larger venue though!
- BTM being down for the last 2 days of our visit....wasted fast passes
- The Stunt Show. Just didn't find the new format as engaging, and Lightning McQueen's appearance was very weak
- My two eldest being refused their Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show birthday tickets as they weren't 18 years old. Half expected it, but on this occasion was actually hoping for one of the DLP inconsistencies
