Got back last night from 3 days and 3 nights at HNY with DD (15) her friend and Mum. Weather was cold, but dry with some sunshine! Parks were busy, particularly on Tuesday.
Highs
RS transport - on time with welcome board, driving not too manic, paid for shared shuttle but just us both ways - a relief after hearing some bad reviews
HNY - So relaxing! Room on ground floor just off main lobby overlooking the ice rink, loved Manhattan for breakfast. Kettle and cups brought to our room. Amazing Halloween decorations in lobby. Woke up to find lots of Christmas trees had appeared over night on our first morning! Loved the short walk to the parks.
Disneyland Park - Everything looked great, Halloween decorations and cackling Witches better than last year. Very few technical difficulties, managed just about all attractions with EMH's, Fast Passes and timing!
Roller coasters - DD and friend did Indiana Jones 15 times; found that late at night it was dark and quiet in that area so very short waits!
Plaza Gardens and Rainforest Cafe - Had lovely meals in both!
Shareholders discount and Salon Mickey - Forced us to take a coffee break mid morning which was so relaxing and managed quite a few saving with discount. Also got Francilien AP's for DD and I by upgrading our tesco tickets (as they had a monetary value) Paid 49 euros each, was reassured that they can be used on blackout days if staying in Disney hotel.
Dreams ! -
Minor irritations
Studios - Lots of "Un probleme technicale" Didn't get to ride Crush, wait times were huge for most attractions; managed RnR, ToT, slinky, parachutes and flying carpets.
Dumbo - 2 dumbos out of action - looked awful! and grumpy cast member.
Tiredness (not Disney's fault) early starts and late finishing of Dreams 10.30 meant we fell into bed each night. I usually like to relax in one of the bars for drink or coffee after parks close, but we just couldn't take the pace!
So armed with annual passes it's time to plan the next trip! Aiming for a cheap one in February!
