Im not a great story teller, so thought it would be better to just do a quick highs and lows post.

We stayed at disney for a total of 15 nights at the end of august beginning of september. I will start by saying we had a fantastic holiday that I am very sad to be home from!

Highs

* Being upgraded to the Grand Floridian for the length of our stay, completely magical and in such a convenient location.

*The weather was very good to us this trip, not nearly as much rain as years past.

*Be our Guest for dinner was amazing, the themeing, food and service was excellent. We all enjoyed this meal and agree its a must for next year.

*T-Rex was an unexpected brilliant meal as well. We kind of went into this thinking it was one of them you go to for the kids for hemming and atmosphere , but it turned into one of our favourites.

*My DD8 finally braving some of the bigger rides. DS6 has been hitting the thrill rides since he was 4, absolutely loves them but one of us always sat out with DD as she had a real fear of them. This trip she did Splash, big thunder, and test track.

*DS teaching prince charming to break dance, absolutely hilarious and wish we had had a video camera. Also him telling Gaston he was better looking than him, leading to a 10min discussion between the two of them over who was the best, lol.

*Slowing down and enjoying more pool time and resort exploring. We didnt feel the need as much this year to rush around fitting everything in. Sure we missed things that now we are home we really want to do, but we have next year and we had a blast whilst there which is what matters.

* Becoming DVC members. This was a big one for us and there were a lot of hours when the children were asleep we were sat doing maths, lol. We came to the conclusion it was right for us, signed the dotted line and feel great! We now own at the Grand Floridian. (Maybe the magic fairies knew and thats why we were upgraded to there?)

*MNSSHP. This was our second time to the party and loved it just as much. The fireworks alone in my opinion are worth the cost of the ticket. The parade extra characters, trick or treating and really short lines for the rides are just added bonuses!

Lows

*Thankfully this is a really short list! We only encounted a very limited number of factors that bothered us, nothing however ruined anything for us and most were forgotten within minutes.

*More rude people than before. Theres normally always one, but this trip it was everywhere. Not CMs but other visitors. A lot of people just seemed impatiant and pushy, and some were just plain rude. None of this directly impacted us, was mainly seen or overheard- but does make you think come on people your at the happiest place on earth, smile and enjoy.

*We only encountered one rude CM in all the time we were there. DD8 was trading a pin with him and the one she wanted he didnt have a back for, when this came up with other CMs they always told her to keep her back. Well this CM said he needed her back otherwise what would he do? he actually took it out of her hand after she took it off. So we left with her having no back for the new pin. Not the end of the world and was easily rectified so we didn't get upset over it but she was slightly confused and didn't trade again for a while. I think its because he came across very abrupt to her.

*Chef Mickeys. I don't know why we haven't learnt after having done it so many times but we gave it another go for the kids. Its just as bad as before. We have promised ourselves no more buffets at WDW, they just dont work for us.

Thats about all I can think of right now. I hope you all enjoyed reading and any questions feel free to ask.

SO glad you had such a good trip! :) Wish I could've been a fly on the wall when your son was teaching Prince Charming to Breakdance though! That still has me giggling to imagine the scene! rofl! :)

Your trip sounds amazing!!!
What a bucket loaf of pixie dust! And what a way to get you to buy into GF dvc lol!

We are still so stuck on what to do dvc wise! We can afford to do it, and we stupidly spend £8000 on accommodation and tickets as it is each trip sometimes more! So it would be worth it but we love the ddp and free ddp always has us thinking about having to pay for it each trip lo!
Going to have to number crunch would love to hear in a PM how many points you got, what swayed it for you and how you number crunched :) x

Sounds like a fab trip, congrats on getting DVC! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

great highs list.

Was there a reason for the upgrade? Or just pixie dust? Either way how amazing!

We were upgraded from POR, nothing was really wrong with this resort- we just asked if there was availability at Coronado as this was where we normally stay. Coronado wasn't available and we told the CM we would be fine where we were could she just get someone in to give a quick clean to our room as the floor needed hoovering and there was hair in the bathroom. Anyway she came back and said she had upgraded us. It was definately a pixie dust moment!

TinkerPea I can't figure out how to PM you? I'm afraid I'm not very computer savvy, lol. But DVC definately looks like it was the right way to go for us. Its not instantly saving you money, we worked it out that it will probably be 5 years before we notice the holiday being cheaper for us- however it will only be costing us around the same to go each year for them 5 years. So we would have been spending the money anyway we may aswell have something at the end of it.

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, it really was one of our best trips yet and has left me very excited for next years!
