Highs

I was really shocked by how well Chloe handled the waiting times for rides, we waited over an hour on a few occasions and ended up waiting almost two hours to see Rapunzel but she didn’t complain once. This was the part I was dreading as I thought she would get bored and upset with waiting so long, so she really impressed me.

Hotel Santa Fe was fantastic, I feel bad now because I had read reviews on other sites that weren’t great so I had low expectations. However, we were very happy to be there, I could not fault it really.

Another thing I had a low expectation with was the food, yet this is not what we experienced. Even with the counter service food, it was much better than I thought it would be.

We had some fantastic character interaction and that made the trip even more wonderful.

The princess makeover at the Disneyland Hotel was a huge high, Chloe’s experience was magical and worth every penny!

Dreams! I got all emotional three times! Simply incredible!

I did have one thing that can go with highs and lows and that is the CMs. Some were brilliant and others were just awful which is a shame really.

Lows

I did notice queue jumping but it was only with Crush’s Coaster, it was frustrating because people were being pushed out of the way while a CM stood and watched. One time it was particularly bad and there were a few families arguing with the CM because he was just standing by and not doing anything.

I misjudged a few things which led to the first three days being a bit of a hit and miss. Chloe managed it differently to how I expecting and was exhausted for the first couple of days so my PTR went out of the window about 30 mins after arriving! I also made other mistakes, I forgot the SD card twice one day so we had to go back and I wore a maxi dress and that I ended up hurting myself in, silly things really but you learn from them. Originally I had planned to see the parades and a few shows, we didn’t in the end, a couple of times we stumbled upon them but it was too much for Chloe with the combination of rides and characters as well as the crowds and the sun so I just let her decide what things she would like to do and did those. We’re planning to go in November so now that I know how things will be for her we can plan for those.

Overall though I loved it and more importantly, so did Chloe. It was so good to see her experience it. I cannot wait until we’re next there!

Welcome back  glad you had a great time with more highs than lows and well done Chloe on handling the waiting so well :thumbsup2 there's lots of adults that could learn from her!

Won't be long until you're back there, then! :goodvibes

I know, I can't wait to see the parks for the christmas celebrations, I've only seen the pictures of what it's been like in the past but it looks good.

She did so well, she was more patient than me :lmao: I don't mind waiting really but it's boring!

Chloe managed much better in the queues than I would have - 20 minutes (and 45 for the Princesses) is my limit!

You'll love Christmas season in November at DLP, and if you're there midweek after the 11th it will be lovely and quiet, so minimal queues and shorter opening hours, so you'll see the parades and shows then without being exhausted :goodvibes.

Thanks for sharing your highs and lows (lovely to see the Santa Fe as a high for you, its my favourite hotel onsite so far).

The dates we're looking at are the 19th to the 23rd so hopefully it'll be quiet then. I was thinking if it's quieter we will be able to see some parades and shows, we could have this time but it would have been so stressful trying to fit it in that I didn't think it was worth it.

She was just brilliant, on the last day the wait time for TOT was showing at 30 minutes, 70 minutes later we still weren't inside! I wasn't happy but Chloe was just sat on the floor singing :rotfl2: it didn't bother her the slightest!

Welcome back, really pleased you enjoyed your trip & that Chloe coped with the queues:thumbsup2

Sounds like a perfect Princess Trip!!

We're going in November (21st-25th) for the second thime because we loved it so much last year! My DD doesn't cope well in the heat so we get a lot more done!

Happy planning!! :goodvibes

Thank you! It felt much harder in the heat, but I would do it again.
