Hi everyone, well we're back and full of the post Disney blues! We had a great time and thought I'd give the usual highs and lows:

Highs

Hotel Cheyenne – we got the Doc Holliday block this time and it was fine, nothing I could complain about. Nothing grand, obviously, but done the job and we all love the theming of this hotel. Would stay here again.

The park was looking lovely with its 20th décor.

CMs - very friendly, 2 in particular who I'm going to mention in my traditional post holiday email to the resort! One who was so kind to my dd after she’d been poorly during the night and in the morning. She spoke so nicely to her and sympathised with her then went off and got her and ds chocolate coins for when she was fully recovered. The other was the cm who was with the characters for meet and greets. While we were in the queue, I realised that I'd left my camera in our room  and there was no photographer there. I phoned dh to bring it but it was time for Mickey to go before he got down. She held Mickey back but then really had to go, which I understood and told her it was fine, She told us to wait and a few minutes later reapperared with a quickly put together makeshift card thing signed by Mickey and Minnie with love hearts on it, my kids were delighted!

We had one really quiet breakfast there and another very busy one. We also had breakfast in the park which was really good.

Dreams – Just. Totally. Amazing! Seen it 3 times, had great views each time and the earliest we got our places was half an hour before show time. As another member said, I did see people camp out from around 9.30.

Magic on Parade – we loved it! Yes it is shorter and some favourites are missing but we really enjoyed it and love the song. I bought the cd before we arrived so we were all singing along!

CMs – in addition to the 2 at the hotel, we found them to be really friendly and helpful. Especially one lovely English girl at the Duffy meet and greet where we spent quite a bit of time since we were the only ones there! She was impressed with the kids homemade autograph book and signed Duffy’s page on his behalf with his special Mickey head paw print, the kids loved it!

The Princesses at Auberge – the food just wasn’t our kind of food but we had some great interaction with the characters here and got some lovely pictures. Worth the money even without eating very much!

My kids reaction to almost everything! Seeing them getting so excited just means the world to me and is why we love our trips here :goodvibes. DD was more willing to go on rides this time and they both loved the Buzz ride.

My sister, a DLP newbie, loving it!

Shareholders VIP fastpass and discounts – saved a fortune again and the fastpass was great, the kids loved going on Buzz over and over!

Other guests - an Italian family giving us their Buzz Lightyear balloon (which ds loved but then meant we had to buy dd a balloon and the 2 of them got in our way for the rest of the day, before we offloaded them to another family, lol!) and a little girl sharing her birthday cake with us in Cafe Mickey.

Lows

Mostly the same as I’ve been reading in other peoples highs and lows – closed restaurants, few characters around the parks and the usual scrums at characters. I didn’t find the smoking and pushing from other guests quite as bad as previous trips. A lot of the toilets we went to absolutely stank. They weren’t dirty or messy but were totally stinking. Otherwise:

RS Transports – partly my fault I guess for not checking their confirmation email closely enough, but they had the wrong arrival date and after 4 or 5 phone calls they appeared 90 mins after our pick up time! I had the correct date in the text of my initial email and in the subject line but on their confirmation they had 26 June instead of 25. To be fair, they took 20E off the price but I was still annoyed at wasting the time.

The Disneyland Park tour being sold out – I tried to book this on Tuesday lunchtime for only myself for Thursday but was told it was fully booked in English the whole time we were there. It might be an idea for those wanting to take the tour to arrange it beforehand.

Missing EMH on Wednesday after sleeping in and having to queue for almost 30 minutes to get through security at WDS. We have always went during EMH so I’m not sure if this is normal or not but it was so busy and in the heat no fun at all. All the rides were 40 mins + wait time so didn’t make it on anything until much later in the day.

DD being poorly – not sure what happened but she was a bit sick, burning up and very uncomfortable during the night on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Dh and ds went to the park while I let dd sleep it off. Fortunately she was much better when she woke at lunchtime and we made it to the park in the afternoon. BUT…..

The heat on Thursday – it was roasting and we were just melting. It really was hot and busy and by Thursday after averaging about 5 hours sleep a night due to my unbelievably noisy sleeping roomates I was starting to flag a bit and it all just wasn’t a good mix!! I ended up having to put my head under the tap in Plaza Gardens to try and cool down – not a great look! So hot.

The busiest and slowest McDonalds in the world!

Excess baggage on the way home :sad2: My own fault obviously but just gutted at having to pay 108E…aaaagh :scared1:

Oops, I’ve went on a bit much and it looks like I’ve lots of lows but we had a really great time! The crowds and the heat have left me wondering if I would go again at this time of year, think we might consider October. Sorry for going on so much!

Welcome back, sounds like you enjoyed your trip. Hope your DD is feeling better now:thumbsup2

Welcome back :wave2: sounds like you had a great time and glad to hear DD is better now.

What a lovely gesture.

What a shame :sad2: gives you a good excuse to book another trip though! ;)
