Thought i would pop on to do the traditional highs and lows of our trip.

Lows:
Constant rain on our first day - me wearing my bright yellow Disney poncho all day and getting quite soggy - not disney's fault i know!

Cheyenne Hotel - again probably our fault the last 2 trips we have stayed at the New York and Cheyenne really doesn't come anywhere near comparing for us. Plus we were situated in Soaring Eagle which if you have stayed will realise is almost the furthest block away from the parks. The room is about half the size of the New York, the bathroom lock did not work, the toiletries supplied are both smaller versions of the New York and you do not get as many different things and for us anyway these were not replaced every day even though i hid the originals! The TV did not get a very good UK Disney channel and we had a lot of static every time we put it on. The breakfast even though we went at 7.30am was a scrum - absolutely awful and most of the cold drink dispensers were not working. We only did it one day as i treated DH to breakfast at Disneyland Hotel one day and had Fantasyland breakfast the other - although to be fair this was just as bad as the hotel!

So many counter service reastaurants were closed - Colonal Haiti's, Pizza Planet, Bella Notta - were not open at all. Lucky Nuggett was only open on Sunday up until about 4pm and Hakuna Matata was only open 2 of the days but only until about 4pm. Toad Hall was also not open when we looked but no idea if it had been open.

Highs:

Dreams - we watched this twice and it was so amazing, absolutely brilliant. We were actually asked to do a survey about this to say what we liked/disliked as i guess they are seeing if it needed tweaking in any way.

Pin Trading - I am a big pin trader and was so happy to finally find the Puablo Trading Post open on the Sunday with Patrick and his pin board inside. I also saw the pin board 2 other days outside Harringtons and was very lucky with some of the trades i did.

Breakfast at the Disneyland Hotel - what can i say well worth the money such a nice realxed atmosphere and the smell of the hotel is always amazing.

Walts and Blue Lagoon - never had a bad meal here and the atmosphere in both is lovely. We sat on the beach at Blue Lagoon without even asking and had a window seat for the parade at Walts as well as sitting in a room we had not been in before.

Having now stayed at all 6 onsite hotels - so i can definately say the more you pay the more you get. Wish i could say we will be going back to Disneyland Hotel next time but unless we win the lottery do not think that will be happening but fingers crossed for New York or at least Newport Bay.

VIP Fastpass due to our Shareholders card - loved just walking on to rides and the way the cm's looked at you as if you were extra special!

Noticed a couple of things this trip hadn't seen before - everyone was waiting for shows/parades for a lot longer than they ever used to. We waited an hour 25mins first night for Dreams - in front row, second night 1 hour 15mins - fifth row back. Tarzan had an over 30min wait in a queue and the parade had people waiting for an hour.

Fast pass queues were really long and the cm's were being really strict making people wait for their time slots.

Almost forgot on our first night BTM broke down whilst we were on it (in the bat cave) and we had to climb out and walk along the track - a little scary at first but when we were out of the train it was quite exciting!

Sounds like a great trip - we found on our first trip that unless it is peak (translate as local school holidays or weekends!) a lot of eating places are closed and you can walk half-way round the park to find the next one open.

How do you get the VIP fastpass with your Shareholder card? I don't remember it from last time w were there (and I do ahve a SC)

Sounds like a great trip :thumbsup2

I'm afraid I have to agree with you about Cheyenne. It was the first hotel we ever stayed in. Our second was New York and we've not waivered from it since (with exception of DLH). All the negatives at Cheyenne are the reason we save our pennies for the HNY - we're not 'you just sleep there' people, so it's important for us to have a nice place to relax after the busy days.

Glad you liked Dreams - not heard a bad review yet :) You did well queueing for so long though. Love Walts and Blue Lagoon too :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting :goodvibes

MazdaUK - the shareholder club offered a special VIP fastpass for a day, on certain dates. It was a special offer to celebrate the 20th anniversary.

Hi Belle's World, thanks for posting, always great to read peoples highs and lows :goodvibes Our visits overlapped! I was surprised to notice people waiting far earlier for the parade/show too. I was sorry to hear your experience at the Cheyenne wasn't so good, sounds like you had a good trip overall though :)

Welcome back, sounds like you had a good trip overall:goodvibes
