Highly Recommend Vero Beach!

By any chance do you have a copy of the weekly activity pamphlet that you would be willing to scan and post? :goodvibes

:cool1: I'm thinking about planning a trip for WDW in June of next year and doing a short after-stay of 3 nights or so at Vero Beach.

Anybody know what the chances are of me being able to book a 3BR Beach House at Vero with only 7 months out for next June? :confused3

If necessary, we'll just book two rooms but it would be great to book the beach house for all 10 of us.

Anybody know how many beach houses are available? :confused3

I know it will also be hard to leave Disney, but the nice part will be we can make our Disney stay as late as possible on that last day without having to be at the airport to catch a flight. So we'll squeeze in all of our last-minute Disney stuff and then do some relaxing at the beach if all goes well!

I am not a DVC veteran by far, but I venture to say that any GV anywhere will be next to impossible at 7 months out, but I have been wrong before. There is just not enough of them to support the thousands and thousands of members out there....especially during time when school is not in session....peak family vacation time.

Nevertheless, it never hurts to cross your fingers and be positive. :)

There are a total of 6 Beach Cottages at DVB. They are always in demand.
Since June isn't the peak you *might* score one - you never know until you try. Make sure to check the points chart as they have changed in both '10 and '11.

I completely understand wanting to have the group together...but even if you can't score the BC...I predict you'll have a wonderful time!

Tons of helpful info - especially the 1st post and it's FAQ's and the like.

I couldn't guess on June because I never tried, but I will tell you when I booked my 1BR at 7 months for October there was a beach cottage available. I just had to check.

We LOVE Vero Beach as well! I'm so bummed that we're not going this May (we usually go every May) we are just doing a WDW stay this May. But, Next year we will definately be going back for a stay at Vero Beach!

I like Vero beach, I think they should expand it to the other side of the A1A like they first planned to, maybe a big water park and more Inn room style rooms like what they are building in Hawaii.

My wife and I were actually in the neighborhood last night and stopped in to look at the resort. We really liked it and plan to stay at some point. We actually had dinner at shutters and enjoyed it.

After a day like I had today at work, Vero would be the best medicine in the world. I adore Disney Vero Beach. Can't wait to go back!!!

I can't wait to try Vero. We have ALMOST done it the past 2 summers and backed out. HOWEVER not this trip. We are going to WDW first for 7 nights (if you count arrival night) and then 4 at Vero. I think our kids are going to love it too. I showed our 16 year old son the pictures and he said "Why are we ONLY staying there 4 nights?". Unfortunately I only booked this like a month or so ago, so all I could book was a 1 bedroom for our arrival day and two Garden Inn Rooms for the next 3. I have a GUT feeling that next year I will be trying to get a 2 bedroom for more than 4 days at the 7 month mark. :thumbsup2

Does anyone have pictures from their Vero trips?? Also where is this mini golf??

:thumbsup2 I wonder why they didn't expand?? Although I am not so sure I would want a waterpark there. Sounds like a nice low key stay and I would hate for them to commercialize it too much.

Would love to live closer to Vero Beach so that I can go there more often. 14 hours away is too far. Spent only 2 days down there last Thanksgiving and loved it!

They did not expand because it wasn't selling. It's a very nice place. But......I predict 4 days will end up being plenty for your 16 year old. I love it there and my 17 year old loves it there for a night or two. Three nights at Vero give me all the down time I need. At that point I want a little more excitement.

Every year we have been doing Disney or a cruise and then I looked at this hotel and it looks so pretty. So we are going to do 2 days at Disney then head here for 6 days. It looks perfect.

Yeah he wanted to stay 5 nights I went with 4 so we can try it. I figure that we will arrive around 2 on our arrival day. We are going to WDW first.
