Hi-im planning our second trip to orlando and would like info on the highlands reserve area.We are thinking of having a villa for 2 weeks here-can anyone reccomend the area,is there shops and restaurants nearby.Last time we stayed in kissimee and had to drive to the restaurants-is this the case here. Many thanks in advance.

Highlands Reserve is about 20 minutes drive from WDW , you get there by going west on 192 to the intersection with I27, then south on I27. There are a few supermarkets up there and maybe a couple of restaurants, but I'd expect you mostly to be going back to the 192 to eat.

Hi, I've stayed at Highland reserve twice and would recommend the location.
It is set amidst a great golf course and the houses are wonderful.

There is a new publixs supermarket around the corner, but like most places in the states you'd be better driving there. Most of the eating places are on the 192 which is 5 minutes away by car. :smooth:

We stayed here last year and had a wonderfull time. HR is beautiful and it would be very difficult to find any faults.

The golf course is superb and the whole place is well maintained.

Turning left out of HR you will drive for a couple of mins before reaching a small supermarket and a bank.

Carry on along the I27 you join the 192. The 192 has all the places to eat.

We did not find any restuarants within walking distance of HR. Allow 10 mins drive from HR to the nearest restaurant and 20 mins to the entrance of WDW.

The I27 is quite dark at night. Luckily there were roadworks outside the HR entrance so this made it easier to locate the entrance in the dark !!

Hi

Have to agree with the two previous posts  We stayed here in 2002 and found it to be a good location - we had a brand new villa but they all looked good. As for the distance from the main shops and restaurants on the 192 it was less than a 10 minute drive, and only around 20 minutes to Disney.

You don't even have to drive for a couple of minutes to the supermarket, now. There's a Publix right next door along with about a dozen other businesses, including a Chinese restaurant, I'm told.

Haven't seen it yet, but will be out there soon!
