I have a Toyota Highlander (states 7 passengers) reserved at Hertz for about $230 for a week. What has been anyone’s experience with picking up this type car? It says 7 passengers and we need seven passengers. I have seen these vehicles and they seem quite small. Can you really fit 7 passengers in there? What are the “similar” cars in that range? TIA

We just bought a Highlander that seats 7. To be totally honest with you, the 3rd row seat is very small. You could fit 2 small kids back there, but definitely not 2 adults. Also, when you use the 3rd row of seats, you essentially lose all storage space. Luggage for 7 WILL NOT fit in the car with you. Hope this helps!

I rented a Toyota Highlander a few weeks ago. There were four of us. The third seat folded into the floor making a flat cargo area that was sufficient for our luggage.

When all three rows of seats are in use, there's almost no room for luggage.

In other words, the Toyota Highlander is fine for 4-5 passengers with luggage or for 6-7 passengers without luggage -- but it won't work for 6-7 passengers with luggage (unless everyone just has something along the lines of one small grocery bag as luggage).
