Higher prices next year?

O.K., is anyone else noticing a significant hike? I know that they are changing the pricing structure for the hotel, but my visit doesn't change seasons (or at least it didn't last year). We are going the same time frame this year and I am noticing about $500 higher. Does that seem right? We go during the infamous President's Week but we are staying at the same hotel in the same type of room. Just wondering if it is only me that is gasping at how much next year is going to cost us!

One thing I noticed is that the seasons have changed at some of the hotels. For example, value season at deluxe resorts started July 8 this year, but next year doesn't start until July 20. Could be that President's Week got moved to a higher-value season at your resort. Just a thought.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain value season ends by the 2nd week of February and shifts to peak season. I'm looking at going in late January, and I feel your pain. We went in 2006 and paid $55 a night for Pop Century. Now the special discounted rates are $65 a night, and I'm hoping we'll even be able to get that rate. Things are getting more expensive across the board.

I don't remember President's Week being peak season last year. I could be wrong. I thought it was regular season. I knew it wasn't value season so I wasn't expecting rock-bottom prices (for what that's worth at Disney) but the jump still seems huge.

We are going for 12 days in February staying @ ASMo Preferred room, and President's Day Weekend is at the end of our trip. I go from paying ~$75/night at the beginning to ~$131/night for that weekend with my AAA discount. I believe (at the values at least) that President's Day Weekend rates are one of the highest rates of the year (2nd only to the Holiday weekend rate). Crazy  It is also Daytona 500 weekend, which is the only reason we chose to go then, since we will be attending the race.

Yep, all holidays now have their own prices, outside of the normal value, regular, summer, peak and holiday rates. I know Mousesavers.com has a really great table of each resort/resort type, and the prices of the rooms, and presidents week is definately priced higher. President's week seems to fall under the "more expensive than peak but slightly less than holiday" pricing. In fact, within the peak range, Presidents week pricing is more expensive than any holiday outside of the "holiday" category, including Easter.
I guess Disney figures it is one of the most popular times to visit!
