Higher airline prices Memorial Day weekend ?

Do airlines raise prices during holiday dates ?

Should we totally avoid Memorial day weekend in WDW?

Should we go to WDW the week before Memorial day weekend - do about mid- May when college gets out in CT & PA ?
Will airfare be less mid-May?

We fly Jet Blue.

Yes, Jet Blue has significantly higher prices during holidays than when not. We fly from Portland to Anaheim during this time, and sometimes it is less expensive to fly Alaska. You can check prices for the legacy airlines now, to get an idea of the difference.

Avoid holidays. Fares are higher. Crowds are bigger.

We have travel almost every year from 2007. Most of the time its exactly on or around memorial day by a day or two. We fly Delta. But have always been able to find airfare around the same price as other days. Just be flexible by a day or two if you can.

To clarify, most fares are not increased by the airlines during holidays (exceptions for Christmas/Thanksgiving, where surcharges are added by some airlines). Rather, overall rates are higher because demand is higher and lower class fares sell out quicker.
