Just wondering if anyone had done this. Is it worth the prices? Do you need ADR's?

Thanks.

Like pretty much all TS places it is strongly recommended you have an ADR.

I have been doing High Tea since 2006. Personally for myself and my family we find the price well worth it and it's become a must do for our trips. I cannot say enough good things about The garden view tea room. I've got two trips coming up one in Sept and one in Nov and for both trips it took me days of calling to finally get an ADR for both trips. If you enjoy this type of thing I highly recommend this at least once if you do.

As far as is it worth the prices that is your call. If you don't mind spending the money for something relaxing that's a break from the park then i say go for it. You can always order a la carte and just get a pot of tea and whatever else you would like unless it is cheaper to do one of their Tea's on the menu. Remember this is not on the dining plan so you will have to pay OOP but I do believe that TIW is accepted.

I would suggest looking at the menu (above) and decide if
A. Do you want to take time out of being in a park
B. The prices. For you is it worth it

Just some pictures from one of my trips of the table, sandwiches, cheese plate, and tea

Hope this helped.

We love it. Cant wait to do it again. We do it as a girls only thing. Going back in Jan for my daughters birthday cant wait.

we loved it too..... we did this on our last trip and we all were instantly in love.....must do on every trip..even for my hubby and 4 year old son(who will not get chocolate milk..he has to get his own pot of tea;)). only have 606 days till i get to have it again...:lmao:

We did this in May "girls only". It was me, my mom, my sister, my two daughters ages 6 & 3 months at the time.

It was wonderful.

We just each ordered a tea and then ordered a la carte. So we kept ordering as we went along and it worked out fine. I think our bill was around $65 but we were all comfortably full and really enjoyed it.

The best was the strawberries and cream. Loved it!

Enjoy!:goodvibes

This is a MUST for DH and I every trip. It is soooo wonderful and relaxing. We both enjoy the atmosphere too. The food is wonderful. Dh loves the Sally Lunn Bread, Freshly Baked Scones with Devonshire Cream and Preserves, Jam Tarts, and you cannot forget the fresh strawberries and cream!! He is a sweet lover!! I always get the Buckingham Palace and so enjoy it. Its a lot of fun and a nice way to take a little break from the parks.

This sounds wonderful. We did High Tea in London and also on our Baltic Cruise. After going to WDW all these years, I never realized we could have High Tea at the GF. I think it is one of the best kept secrets.

We enjoy it and have done it several times.
Hubby enjoys it as well as a male friend of ours who's gone a few times.

It is slow paced and relaxing and just what the dr. ordered for a VACATION.

Like the PP said, you don't have to order full tea.
We have gone in and gotten just a pot of tea and a scone or pastry and relaxed.

My favorite thing is the cheese plate..yum.

Yes, get reservations (we used to do it walk-up but now it's very busy).

If you get the full tea, it will take the place of a meal. It is more food than it seems.

Ask for Angela as your server if she's there..she will take VERY good care of you!

If you get tea sandwiches and dont like any of the options you can sub out for the other types.

If it's a warm day, you can get your tea iced as well.

Dining plan is not accepted. getting tea and a pastry/scone ala carte expect $10. Getting a full tea, expect $30.

here is a menu from allears as well:

We went for the first time in May - just the girls. It was lovely and relaxing. Make sure to get an early time - ours was 3:30 and we were so full we ended up cancelling our dinner reservation. Also diversify. Being that it was our first time, we ended up ordering the same thing and lots of it: Princess tea (strawberry flavor), strawberries & cream (which are huge), and a jam tart (which turned out to be strawberry). Next yr we plan to try some new things - although there's no way I'm giving up the strawberries and cream!

I would echo what PPs say...this is a lot of fun. It's also a unique experience across WDW - there are no other tea rooms. I happen to love the English trifle for dessert, but DH and I have always been pleased with all of the food and tea. We tried the cheese plate for the first time last year...let's just say we'll be having it again this year : )

Also, TiW is accepted here.

It's a must do for every trip for me! So relaxing and delicious! Another fabulous WDW experience outside the parks! Try it at least once, and yes, it's well worth the money! And, you do need an ADR.

1) With the exception of guest "park" attire, it is close to High Tea.
2) They have all the tea and food one would expect at Tea.
3) It is a nice break from the hectic pace of the parks.
. . . nice atmosphere
. . . good service
. . . nice variety of food
. . . good variety of tea flavors
4) We prefer Tea at the Peabody (when open) or Palms, but do GF 1-2 times per year.

NOTE: The only poor or "average" thing about GF High Tea, is that they only serve Orange Pekoe or Broken Orange Pekoe tea.

I took my mom last week for the first time and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We had such a wonderful time and the food was terrific. It definitely replaced a meal for us. Having our tea served iced was wonderful since it was so hot out. My mom has already asked that we make GF tea a tradition on every trip!

Can you share a pot of tea? My DH and I did this last year, we each ordered one of the full meals and neither of us could finish our pot of tea.

For those having already done the high tea; what are the times they offer the high tea? Also, do you need a creditcard handy when making a reservation like you do for some other "out of the ordinary" ADR's or not?

Sounds like a nice thing to do for my birthday. Enjoyable, fun, yet relaxing. :goodvibes

The times are approximately 2:00 to 5:00 per wdwinfo.com, but I thought it was more like 2:00 - 6:00. No credit card necessary. Definitely worth it; hope you get to enjoy it for your Birthday. :thumbsup2

When you call for a ressie they will tell you the last available seating time.
But even if you get a late time, you can linger. We often linger for a while.
Last time they even sent us home with a big container of pastries and scones.

Oh, and some of the teas are for sale there.
Although there are teas for sale on Disney property with the same names, they are NOT the same teas and not manufactured by the same company.

The tea for the tea room is sold exclusively AT the tea room.
All the of the tea is freshly blended and usually no more than 2 weeks old.
It is expensive though. A tin of the princess tea that I bought was $20.
The good thing is that you only need 1 teaspoon of the tea for an entire press pot of tea (about a quart), so it goes very very far and is so fresh that it lasts a long long time!
Nice unique souvenier.
