High Speed Internet At Disney

HIGH SPEED INTERNET AT DISNEY: I attended a Wedding last weekend which required an overnight stay, so I took my lap top with me. The hotel provided internet service, either plug in ethernet or wireless. Once I connected to the internet, it took forever for the sites to come up, so slow, (and it was suppose to be high speed), I could have taken a shower before the screens changed. My question, for those who take their lap tops to Disney, how fast is the connection? Is there long lag times before different web sits to come up or is it actually high speed internet.

I haven't used my laptop at WDW so I can't tell you anything about the speed of the connection, but while staying at POFQ this past September I photographed the equipment and information provided regarding internet connections. Hope this helps a little.

1) Yes, it is "high speed" internet.
2) But, it gets REALLY slow if lots of folks are on it, like any cable internet.
3) Sometimes in the evening, it is slower than dial-up.

Depends how many are using it at the same time you are. I plugged in at Pop just over a week ago and definitely got a high-speed connection. Pages popped up instantly with no problem and I sent largish picture files out to family without a lag. Maybe I logged in at odd times, who knows.....

Found it to be of high-speed at WL last 3 weeks. Only problem was that everytime I connected I had to dial 56 to receive a code because of some problem with the server apparently. Kept getting code eNKW which apparently means they don't recognise that you have a credit card down for room charging (which I actually did have).

We used it once there. The $10 covers 24 hours of service. We had no problem with speed. It seemed to go pretty fast. But we used it in the afternoon and very late at night.

I seem to remember we couldn't do something with the HSI at OKW. I was probably either trying to hop on IRC to brag about being there or FTP photos to my web server.

When we where at the AKL in oct. i ran a speed test and it was just over 1mbps

thats about the same as a cheap dsl package from verizon or whoever.

Glad they had it... i had to look at the DIS to see what was going on!
