Hi everyone

Just feeling a little .. not sure how to put it into words.. today my daughter starts High school.. she was up at 6:15 getting ready to go.. She was very excited.. This morning I have had a few tears.. I remember putting on the bus for JK.. I just can't believe my little girl is in HIGH SCHOOL.. No real point to this but.. just wanted to share.. Stay tuned.. in 2 weeks my son goes to JK!! Its a big year at our house.. Hand me the tissue.. Sarah

I understand your pain. Our DD is in grade 3, and this year our DS went into grade 1 and is in school every day. :sad1:

Here you go.. :grouphug:

We went over to the boys school today, just as all the teachers were getting ready to go out for lunch together (we start tomorrow)

I told them to enjoy themselves, because I'm going out tomorrow!! LOL! :teeth:
(After I've had a good cry, though!!;) )

Hang in there, summer will be here before we know it!! :goodvibes

:sunny:

Add me to the "tearful Mother" club ;) Our kids started a new school today (grade 3 and SK), and they have to take a bus and eat lunch at school, which they've never had to do either, and DS is all day every other day whereas JK was every afternoon in the old school. Lots of changes for us ... I cried after their bus pulled away, even though I was then driving over to the school to meet the bus :teeth: DH thought I had lost my mind! Then after getting them where they needed to be, I cried all the way to work. Maybe it's just a "Mom" thing. I think that after the kids are in the school, the principal should be handing out alcoholic drinks to the Mom's on the playground :rotfl: I only just realized last night that tomorrow DD has to take the bus by herself since DS will be at daycare. So now I get to worry all over again.

Here's a big :grouphug: for everyone feeling anxious or sad today. Thanks for posting ... I feel better knowing I'm not alone!

I'll join the club, my little boy started grade 1 today. He was fine, but I kept asking "are you sure you are o.k., etc till i noticed the teacher eye-ing me! I never thought that would be me but yikes it is hard to cut the old umbilical cord! Also, my little nephew started high school today, boy the time goes way to fast!

It doesn't get better as they get older either. I dropped my DD in North Bay for University and got the same way. Different stages mark the end of an era and all that. And I have DS getting married in 1.5 years so there we go again.

A bit teary here as well. I have one starting high school and one starting university! Big year but at least the university is local. No need to move out just yet--I'll cry more next year!!

My DS(14) started Grade 9 today. :sad1:

He was very nervous, and looked "lost" when I dropped him off. :guilty:

I went to work and later in the day I got a call from him saying that it was early dismissal at school and he was on his way home at 1pm. :confused3

A little later, he bumped into another boy he knew who asked him where he had been for the rest of the afternoon???? :scared1:

We still aren't sure if the other boy was just teasing him, or if he really did come home too soon!!!!! :confused3

I guess we'll find out tomorrow. I'm hoping he won't be in trouble on his second day of school. He walked home with 6 other boys from our subdivision (all "good" kids) so I don't think he was lead astray.

I'm anxious to find out what is said tomorrow................

I'm feeling the first day of school blues :sad2: too....my DD(9) came home from the first day yesterday and seemed happy with everything then about 20 minutes later I found her sobbing in her bedroom. She says everthing is okay, she was just upset because she had homework on the first day.

Being the worrier I am though...I have visions of all these stories you hear in the news and see on the talk shows about how mean kids can be.

I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on things and see how it goes.

Actually, I have to be part of the 'blue daddy' club. :earsboy:
My wife was upset as well, but she was at work, and didn't have to look around the quiet, empty house.
Not until tommorrow...Hunny!

Count me in - but for a different reason. I drove my son to the airport yesterday because he is leaving home - to go and work at Epcot in Disney World for a year.

So when's the first trip down to see him ??? :teeth: October's nice ...

Does he know if he'll be in the store, movie, food services ??? If you let me know, I'll pop in and say Hello when we go mid-October. :)

He's in F&B. They start on the beer and popcorn carts, and then move inside to La Cellier. We're hoping that the trip will be February (his birthday).

Now if only I can get my DD(25) to get a job in WDW ::yes::

B-T-W, My DS (14) didn't get into trouble about getting out of school early, the other boy was just teasing :confused3

Carol (aka iluvwesties) :wave2:

A sad day here too. My oldest left on Sunday to go to 2nd year-far far away(10 hours), and my youngest left Monday for 1st year about 45 minutes away--I should be enjoying the quiet but right now it feels pretty lonely. I'm sure by next week I'll be feeling better.
