High School rings. How much for yours?

I bought my son's ring last year, and it was about $400. He DID give it to his girlfriend, which was one of the strings I had attached to the ring...I'd buy it for him, but not for him to give it to his girlfriend

mine was 100.00, and it had an aquamarine. it had mickey mouse on it, and a full quote running around the edges (no name/grad year) and it was engraved on the inside.

DS is a jr this year and we are getting his ring for Christmas. Total cost $360. It is already bought , he likes it and I am ok with it as he is happy. But I wondered if this was about the average cost? It seems a little high for something he will wear for 1 1/2 years. Of course everything about high school is a little high anyway right?!

I did request he at least wear it until after Christmas before handing it to his girlfriend. LOL

$360! DD16 is a junior this year too. We bought her ring last april for her birthday. I believe it cost $136. It is a lovely, non-precious metal ring that we bought at Walmart. You can't tell her ring from any of her friends' rings. And I figure in a year or two she's not going to want to wear the class ring anymore. I would have NEVER spent $360.

mine was about $120 in 1988. it was an Artcarved with an amethyst (my birthstone) and a small diamond on each side. i STILL love it, but i don't wear it. i take it out and look at it every now and then. it's a gorgeous ring.

I don't remember how much mine was. DS is a senior and we got his his sophomore year. We got it from Herff-Jones for $495, it is white gold, garnet stone with all the engravings he wanted. He had to pay for half of it so he worked all that summer to do so. We also put the stipulation that he was NOT to give it to a girl. He wears it a lot.

You think rings are expensive..........just wait until senior pictures!!!

DS' is just at $400 so thank goodness for payments. He will pay off at least part of it himself.

My parents refused to buy me a class ring and I couldn't afford it at the time. I decided then that I'd help a kid of mine if I could.
