Just read it drew in 17.2 millon viewers on Friday. WOW, way to go Disney. I think I am the only one who hasn't seen it. It aired at 9pm where I am and I dont have Tivo! Bummer. Can't wait till DVD release!

That number might have been higher if it wasn't available for free "On Demand" in some areas a week earlier.

I find it refreshing to know that kids do respond well to good wholesome movies and that everything doesn't have to be slash and major action movies because they were waiting for this movie to come. I think it has stumped the "adult" critics who didn't give it very high reviews.

My DD9 along with myself, My DS13 and DH all watched it together Friday Night( after coming home from 10 days in WDW.

I Liked the first one... I LOVE the second. My DH also loved it espically the Dance Choreography . Some of it was throw backs to WAY OLD musicals.

It's a little of the "OLD DISNEY MAGIC" That a movie made for the younger set.. can appeal to us 40+ers.

I looking forward a HSM 3... The kids have 1 last year of school.... then graduate.... WHY NOT DO A HSM 3 ???!!!

My 11 year old had her birthday party the night of HSM 2 premiere. I bought all of the girls HSM pajamas and we watched it. Everyone loved it, including my little girls. It's nice to have a movie we can all watch together and enjoy.

My DS(7) loves HSM and cant wait till HSM2 shows here.He knows all the words and our neighbour (cute 8 yrs old girl ) was teaching him the dance moves in our garden tonight.I stood at the bedroom window watching,,,,,it was sooooo cute !!!

Then he came in and play fought his dad on my bed WWE style....kids are sooo random !!

My kids love it! My DS4 has been doing Troy's dance moves on the golf course all day....he sings "Today is my day!" it is so cute. DS7 even likes it and he only likes anything with Dinosaurs.

Finally something my whole family can watch together.

BTW I love it too, so does DH! The soundtrack is great too!

We were out of town (with out any cable ) for the premiere. My DD10 was so bummed. My father-in-law burned it onto a DVD for her and the night we got home she watched it 7 times and every night since. Of course I had to watch it with her. We both loved it. DS3 also loves the music. HSM1 and 2 are great movies with good messages. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for HSM3!!

I liked the 1st one better. I just liked the music much more in the 1st one. This one sounded canned. I didn't like the effects they did on some of the music. JMO of course. The 1st one had certain scenes and music that stood out. That were hits. I just don't see or feel it with this one. It still was nice. And I agree that it is nice to be able to watch something on TV with my kids that doesn't have bad words or implications. I liked it. But I LOVED the 1st one better!

I just watched it the 2nd time yesterday. Did anyone see the hidden guest star in the end song?? My older DD picked up on it the 1st time we watched it. I told her she was crazy! Nope. The person was there. Did anyone notice?

Sorry if this is a crazy question. When will High School Musical be on the Disney Channel again? I have searched the Disney Channel website but can't find when they are going to be showing it again. Or was it a one time only showing and then you have to buy the DVD in December?

Are you kidding? They will show it again. And again. And again. And just in case....again. A one time Charlie they are not! Yesterday was like the 3rd time since Friday! I think last Sunday they had the sing along version. Then it was on last night. They have a dance version coming up too. And probably, just like the 1st time, a pop up information one. Yeah it will be on again. I looked at my on demand up till Monday and it isn't showing it. BUT there are several openings for movie length spots that are TBA. I wouldn't worry. You will get to see it.

I also heard that they website was set up so you could have a High School Musical 2 party, so the viewer numbers don't represent all the households where people watched together.

My DBF hates HSM2 but I agreed with your husband-- it reminded me of the musicals my mom used to show us when we were growing up. Also, welcome home from WDW! And btw, I read in people magizine that scripts are being written for HSM3 and HSM4 currently and some actors are already on board for 3.

They showed it last night (Thurs) and I know this weekend they are showing the original which I have never seen. I wouldn't look on the Disney website as much as I would just scroll through the guide on your TV. I didn't see any commercials for HSM2 last night but I am sure they will show it at least a dozen more times so everyone can be in love with it before they take it off the air to get DVD anticipation up.

Yes it was on yeserday it will be on for a while i think !!!!
Will i can watch any of the three weekend HSM 2 because i got dish and I LOVED IT even though im going to be a teen. BUT IM NOT the can that are overcrazy about HSM

Yup! DD saw her right away and pointed her out to me. I didn't believe her at first but she was right!

We saw it and loved it!!!! My DD8 and DS5 love to dance around and sing to it. Of course, my DS12 thought that it was a little corny, but he watched it with the rest of us anyway. We can't wait for the DVD release! Way to go Disney!!!!!
