High School class of 2011

This is getting too real. We have honors night Thursday, senior recognition Sunday at church, her last day of school is this Friday, they have graduation practice three days next week and then graduation next Saturday. She just got home from her ap class trip to new York last night. I've been a crying mess!

As if I'm not emotional enough over DS's graduation on Sunday, my 10th grade DD comes home today with her class ring order form. :sad2:

Well this is it! Graduation Day!
I cried through the Baccalaureate Mass.
I cried when he got the choir award.
I cried when he got the Drama award.
I am hopeful there will be no tears left for tonight!

I am so proud of him. Is was just so nice to hear the teachers/directors talk so kindly of him and what he has accomplished. I will miss all these kids. They have grown up together in the last 4 years and they are all such nice kids. ok now I am crying again. Good grief - I am not usually even an emotional person!

The only thing that is keeping me from boo-hoo-hoo'ing all the time is that DD will be SO overjoyed to escape hs.

We're very close and I will miss her so much this fall but I will not miss how that place has scraped her nerves raw.

agnes!

Congrats to you and you DS! :goodvibes We are right behind you, DS graduates on Sunday. I've been teetering on the edge emotionally all week. I'm sending you happy thoughts for tonight.

Yesterday was a great day! DS found out he was Salutatorian and last night at the sports banquet he was name defensive player of the year and all conference in baseball. Now he has to get busy and write his speech. So proud of him, thinks for letting me share!

Disneycrazymom: How was graduation last night? We are 2 days away.

Wow a mom of 3! He did great!!!!! Congratulations to both of you.

Graduation was really nice and I didn't even cry at school! Totally lost it before we left though! DS got home from the lock in around 6 this morning and is still sleeping so I have not heard how it went, but I am sure it was fun. I cannot believe it is all over. Now for some fun and relaxing before we get ready to take him to school. One last summer!

Congrats on the DS as Salutatorian .. that is a great achievement and recognition..:thumbsup2

Disneycrazymom - congrats on graduation and making it through it all..

Things are marching on for us.. last night was sectionals for track.. DS did 13 6 not 13 9 so he does not qualify for state.. his first 13 9 jump was perfect and he went over but the pole fell after he was on his way down , so no 13 9 for him.. he does go to state as an alternate for the relay team.
today he left at 7:20 to stand in line for senior prom tickets and post prom tickets.. then of gf's house and to relay for life bake sale to raise $$$ for the team and the cause.., next week is regular band concert Monday and senior band concert on Tuesday.. practice at 6:30 am both Mon and Tues for the concert; wed i pick up older brother from college, DS leaves for state on thursday..

busy busy.. i think..:confused3

just checking in..:surfweb:
DS is finished with AP exams, and conference for Track. This week is a honors ceremony and Track sectionals.. if he does well , he will compete at state..
his laptop came, so of course he had to get Netflicks for it..:)

how's everyone holding up??

My soon to be graduate actually came down with chicken pox!! Missed one of the AP exams and just had the makeup test this week. She had a mild case when she was around 2, when her older sister got them way back when she never did so we all assumed she was immune. Nope.

Now that ordeal is over with. Our school year still has about a month to go. Prom is June 3rd. Senior scholar breakfast is done. Cap and gown came home this week. :sad1: I had to do something and I looked at my DH and said, well this is the last time I'll ever have to do this for one of our kids and he just said..the next month is going to have lots of those "last times" in there. :sad1::sad1:

I just booked our hotel for orientation in August. DD is OSU bound. The best part of that? My older 2 DD's are both in C'bus too. Middle DD will be graduating OSU in 2012 and oldest DD lives and works there.

:guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty:

This year has gone too fast..

That's my question too!

I knew last Sept. that this was it and DS would be graduating...but it got here so fast. :scared1:

This is DS last week of school and in two weeks from now he'll be getting ready for graduation. I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through it. :lmao:

 Congrats to you and DS you made it!

Congrats to everyone else that has already made it through graduation. Now the next time we'll be crying is when the bills start coming in for college. :rotfl2:

Congratulations to all who have graduated already!

We're in the home stretch here. Last day of senior classes is today, tomorrow is the senior bbq, then starts senior finals and grad practice. June 4th he graduates, and June 6th prom. June 7th, we all sleep late and recuperate! :cloud9:

Quick question... we got an orientation package from the school, and one of the recommendations they send is for rhl.org for linens. I like the package that is offered, but no where on the site does it say anything about the thread count of sheets (I am wondering about quality) I could buy everything in one package from them, or buy it all separately from Bed Bath & Beyond, I like the convenience of one stop shopping, but I am concerned about quality.
Has anyone used Residence Hall Linens (rhl.org)? Any advice?
Thanks all:goodvibes

DD18 took her last final today. They have graduation practice tomorrow and the next day. Graduation is Friday. My last day is tomorrow, and my mom is coming up Wednesday so we will have enough time to visit, go to the movies, and celebrate graduation.

I asked this question of my DD's college admissions rep. She said that the sheets from rhi are just OK - not terrible but not very long lasting, either. I thought they were pretty pricey and she agreed that they were expensive for the quality you get. She suggested that you can do better buying them on your own as long as you purchase sheets twin sheets in the "extra long" size.

yep.. ds#1 siad that the quality was poor and that they were scratchy..

In july, kohl, bed bath and beyond and others all have extra long sheets and other college dorm stuff on sale..

Target carries stuff for the dorms and the bedding too. That is where we got my other daughters from.

Thanks for the info. I was planning to buy from Bed Bath & Beyond before seeing the rhl website, I think I'll stick with that original plan.
