We've had a male and female Cardinal out in my backyard since last winter. They had 3 babies a while back. The parents and babies had been frequent visitors to my bird feeder for several weeks.

About 2 days ago I noticed that the male cardinal (Dad) would not let them come to the eat at the feeder. Now he chases them away everytime they show up in the yard. Poor babies!

Thus is the way of nature. Everything's on fast forward. You have those kids, let them stick around for a few months and then kick them out the door. Hmm, maybe the birds have the right idea! :p

Maybe he's getting ready for more little birdies.

Always hard to watch the process of nature take place... not always very kind (or at least not fitting within our standards of kindnes).

I've seen amother squirrel spend all day trying to ditch her babies...and the noise!!! those babies were upset. Felt bad for the mom cause she was probably ready to have more babies and HAD to get them out.
