What to do at the HIFS if your suite is not ready? We will probably get there hours before official check-in time, but we don't want to leave the property. We will be going to DD that evening, and really just want to experience the hotel amenities as best we can-only staying 1 night. Is there a nice place to change into swimsuits, just hang by the pool, putt putt, stuff like that?
Thanks!:p

I'm bumping this up to the top because I want to know also. If anyone can help, please help.

We will arrive prior to check in and are not doing the parks that day so would like to either do something at the hotel, maybe swim but depends on the weather in December but we are Northeasterners so we should be ok...lol.

You guys are reading my mind!

We are arriving December 12 at 11:00 am and didn’t want to do a park that day. We are from Maine so the swimming part did cross my mind

Okay - I'll join the group looking for suggestions..

We'll be arriving on Dec. 3rd - around 11 a.m.

Hey - I know! Maybe those of us arriving on the same day could have a mini DIS meet and let the kids play in the playground!! LOL

We have always been able to get into our room no matter what time we have checked in. I know we have arrived between 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. before and had no problems.

Call the hotel a couple of days before you go and see if they are booked up, if not you should be able to check in early.

Otherwise, there are nice restrooms in lobby building. Just pack your swimsuits in your carry on and let them hold your luggage in their storage room.

You can eat lunch in food court or restaurant, play games in arcade or just sit at (or play in) pool. The pool is heated, we have been in it in January. Of course, there is also a hot tub right next to minigolf (within sight of pool). We love it. We sit in hot tub and watch as kids golf. That is the life!!!!!

You will love HIFS. We have been 3 or 4 times and have room reserved for pre and post cruise in November.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just what I hoped to hear!
Labor Day weekend just seems sooooo long away.

When we checked in and our rooms were not ready we were able to check our bags and they would put them in our room once it was ready, so we could go enjoy the parks or the pools or whatever. Never had a problem!:)

We've stayed here in the past and usually arrive 9-10am. When our room wasn't ready the front desk clerk just told us to go ahead and have breakfast from the buffet while waiting. We have never really had a problem with a long wait for a room. I guess if your room is not ready you could swim, do the mini-golf, there is a small playground also. You could also just wait in the Lobby, lots of seating and a small gameroom for the kids. It's a nice hotel.

Last year we checked in early and our room was not ready. It wasn't ready until 3:00.

HIFS has two hospitality suites for their guests. They are located on the first floor near the pool. These are just 2 regular suites that connect to each other (connecting door is removed).

If your room isn't ready, store your luggage with the front desk (because multiple families are allowed to use the rooms at once)and use the rooms to change into your suits or just relax :).

I am so happy to hear about the Hospitality Suites! We will probably get there around noon or so. Since this will be too late for the breakfast buffet, what will we be able to get to eat?
We will really just want to stay put before heading to DD that evening.

The club car restaurant will be open as will pizza hut and a&w. I suggest pizza hut/a&w because they have the "kids eat free" special during lunch time :)

Taylor 1293-thank you so much for all of the HIFS info you have posted lately! I hope I can be as helpful when I return!!:p

Is the "kids eat free" deal only good at counter service for lunch, or for dinner also?
