I hope this helps out... we only stayed one night it was an inpromto vacation in Orlando (we are only an hour away in Melbourne). We first visited the science center in downtown, kids loved this place... then while we had lunch I called for a reservation. We got the $129.00 Family Values Package. Which included a King Kids Suite, and $50.00 in room credit to spend at the resort. We checked in around 5:30pm, of course no lines at this time and the staff was very polite, however because we waited so long to check in the only theme they had left with a pool view was "Hot Air Balloons", kids were set on Coke a Cola but it would do (especially with the view). We signed the required forms and headed to the room. Excited to check it out... The outside of the hotel was very clean, pleasant to look at and easy to find things... all in a railroad theme. The lobby was also very nice, and because we signed up for the Holiday Inn priority club we got a certificate for free popcorn and sodas. We were in room 840 in the Nashville section. We took the elevator up and there we were. The key worked first try, which was great as our hands were full. The inside was very pleasant and also very clean. Everything was set up nicely (although the remotes did not work, which was corrected by a quick phone call to the operator). The living room was a little small, but thats comparing it to a $1,000 a night room at the Dolphin... the bathroom was large and here was my only complaint, one bathroom.... otherwise we were very satisfied with the room. There were extra blankets and pillows already in the dresser. We called for toothpaste and razors as we had misplaced ours and withen ten minuted they were there. We walked down to the restraunt for dinner, buffet for $17.95... was okay but not my cup of tea (steak, chicken one with sauce and cheese, the other with onions and pepers, spaghetti and meatballs, hamburgers, hotdogs, nuggets, fries, potatoes, green beans, corn, salad, bread and desserts) it seemed a little pricey. Comparable to Ryans steakhouse as far as quality. Next time I think I would order from menu or try the seafood buffet on fridays and tuesdays. After dinner we went to the entertainment area for Bingo, kids won the super coverall bingo prize was a large pizza, soda, eddy's ice cream and tokens for games... cool! Then we tried the pool. Fun for us and kids... lots of toys to play with, water cannons, etc... spent two hours here before going to room to enjoy pizza snack and relax... asked for a late checkout and got one for 2pm... had breakfast in the morning... yummy... one warning though... get there prior to 10am... we got there at 10 and had to rush because all the food was running out... otherwise great and it's FREE! Hot items and cold items. Check out was a breeze, did express in the room... overall I was impressed and WILL stay again... infact we are looking to book a weekend for my fiance' and myself next month in the Sweetheat Suite.... oh la la...lol!
As to the comments I've seen on other boards, there were NO rats, bugs, etc... the staff was very nice. I am use to Dolphin, Swam, Wyndam Palace Pres Suite, and this hotel was up there... maybe not as luxurious... but very clean, comfortable and nice... wish we could have stayed longer.... any other questions feel free to ask...
