I'm looking at staying a Saturday night in September at HIFS, before checking into Poly on Sunday. Am considering HIFS, but DH is skeptical about the breakfast buffet. We had a BAD experience at a Holiday Inn Express on I-Drive--people pushing and shoving, grabbing food, no tables available to sit at, etc. He also hates to wait in line for very long. Can someone help with info about set-up, crowd control, etc. so that I can assure DH he won't need to run interference and protect us like he did at the Express. Thanks

The breakfast buffet actually goes quite well. There are two separate areas of full breakfast, and then the cereal and drink areas. Lots of tables and rooms, too. We've gone twice in the heat and busy-ness of August with 6 and 7 people (4/5 kids) each time. There were no problems at all, and the choices were terrific. You'll have a great time!

We were there the week before Easter and also had no problems with wait times. We usually just loaded food in to go containers and ate on the run, or back in our room. But, there was no wait in the lines.

We went down for breakfast early at 7:30am. At that time there were plenty of seats. Since there is more than one buffet area - we had no problems with lines. The food was hot and there was plenty of it. :p :p

THE best place to eat is on the Screen Porch at the back of the building it overlooks the lake and fountian. It is quiter and more relaxed!! My 1yr old grand-Dd found the fountain and just thought that was hot stuff!! She was so cute!!

And according to the crowd level there are 4 rooms. The central room is my least favorite, noisier, less seating, but the room on the right was our Favorite,it was closer to the porch.

To get to the porch go all the way to the back on the right, and then thru the glass doors!!

The buffet is no more crowded than any all you can eat and I found peole were very polite. There isn't any shortage of Food. They replace all the items that run out right before they are empty!!

I think you and your Dh will be really pleased with you choose of HIFS!!!

Good food! They have more than one place to get food and drinks. They also have toaster stations with bagels and toast. There is another island space of hot oatmeal and grits and cold cereal spots too. DRinks are easy to get too. The lines are not bad and food was warm. They also have carryout containers so if hubby doesn't want to go just bring it back to him in the room!;)
