I'm starting to buy little bits for our trip now and have been planning on getting the hidden mickeys book that you see around the parks.

I was going to buy it last night so was checking prices online when I saw on the books official website that they have an app.

The app is £3.49 which is half price compared to the book and as I got some iTunes vouchers for Christmas I thought I'd treat myself.

It's really great. Has little hints for each hidden mickey and a scoring system for if you find them. If you can't find them from the hint then you can forgo points and it gives you a precise description.

Also when you're in the parks it tells you by GPS what HMs you're closest too.

AND it saves me carrying a book around too!

Sounds great. DD wants the Hidden Mickey book for her birthday. However I am not buying my 8 year old an iPhone to support the apps :lmao:

I must look on Amazon. I was on the Book Depository and it was out of stock. They notified me that it is back but when I click back to the store it still shows out of stock.

Yeah I looked on the Book Depository last night and it was out.

Amazon did have it available on next day delivery though, so their's must be in stock. :)

Great. Thanks :) DD is wanting to do that next trip and has been asking for the book. Her birthday is in a few weeks and I can slip it in along with her other gifts.

I thought I'd do a little tour of the app. My iPhone screenshots have come out huge, so I'll post them as clickable thumbnails instead.

When you open the app if you were in the parks it'd know where you were by using GPS, but as I'm in Surrey I get the list of the 4 parks:

Then you can select any of the parks and it'll give you a list of each area, and each attraction/restaurant in that area that has HMs:

Then you can select any rides or restaurant, and it'll give you a hint for each one, and they are ordered in the way you'd come across them so entrance, queue, ride, exit, exit shop etc.

And if you still can't find it you can press the "Hint" button and it'll tell you exactly where the Mickey is. But if you do ask for more information then you don't win points for that Mickey.

You can also view the HMs in a big list, and then the ones you have found show up with a little mickey next to them, and the ones you haven't yet have a "?" next to them still.

I'm hoping that the other people on the trip with us will find this a bit of extra fun, especially while we're queueing and things we can look up which HMs to be on the lookout for!

the book is really good, we used it on our wedding trip and located alot of them but the book we had was already out of date

Anyone know if it's available on the android market also?

I have the book and used it a few years back, DH and me got quite competitive. lol

There's a Hidden Mickeys application on Android, but it's not this same one, and doesn't look nearly as good.

Carl.

yes not neqrly as good, i have a wait times one which is really good and was free and the countdown one!

We took the most recent Hidden Mickeys book with us in December and it was just amazing fun - we didn't turn it into a competition but it was something that everyone could join in with. We looked for them in queues, and shops and tried to on rides, but that was a little more difficult!

When CMs saw us with the book, they'd point us in the right direction of one - either in the book, or not.
In 'Tinkerbells Treasures', we were stood staring at a wall where a CMpointed out a Hidden Mickey, and then a couple came over and said, "Are you looking for a HM?" We finally found it, and then they told us where to look in the Buzz Lightyear queue!

It just seemed to be the magic of Disney!
xxx:wizard:

This sounds good. Does anyone know which general apps are good for WDW? There seem to be loads to choose from, I'm after one with maps, restaurants and wait times if there is one people would recommend?

TIA

WDW Dining and eTicket WDW are my favourites
(must now include Hidden Mickeys!)
