We are going to WDW 10th May and for this trip, i really want the Steven Barrett book on Hidden Mickeys. Problem is, no bookshop here in the UK have it in stock, and if they order it, it wont arrive in time. I can't order anywhere online, as again, it would take too long to arrive.
My question is, can you buy this book in the parks? I have it in the back of my mind that you can.
Thanks

I want to say yes. I don't recal specifically seeing it but that's probably because we already have both volumes.

I listen to Lou Mongello and I seem to remember him mentioning that you could buy the Hidden Mickey Books in the park.

A hint... try the bookstores in the airport. Lou said he was in the airport and they had a Barnes and Noble and he signed all his trivia books.

There is probably a bookstore in the airport and I'm sure they carry more than their fair share of Disney guidebooks.

I've seen quite a few "Disney Travel" books, and I fondly remember seeing the Hidden Mickey one there. It's sort of by the calenders/dvds/coloring books etc etc.

Yep, we just bought our second copy when we were there last week. Looked like the resorts have them in the gift shops as well as Downtown Disney. I'm sure they're in more locations as well.

I found something better that the HM book
and it's called Guide to the Magic "The Lost Journals"
it has everything in it: Hidden Mickeys, Scavenger Hunts,
Mystery Photos, Little Know Facts about WDW.
I got it online.
I like the way this book is layed out and written,
it holds ones attention longer.
I already have the HM book and have since put it away
and replaced it with this new book. :woohoo:

Is that the name of the book- Guide to the Magic "The Lost Journals"-- and did you get it online or at a bookstore? I would like to get a HM book before we go

Yes, that's the name.
Had to buy online, they are not yet available
at the book stores.
I saw another of this persons books on Ebay and was able to
find his website which is guidetothemagic.com and he has
several different unique books that you can't find anywhere else.
I am waiting for the new childrens activity book to be finished
hopefully before our trip in the fall.
This person writes and created all of the books himself.
I really like the books.:thumbsup2

FYI, just checked it out. It does look great! The journal also looks great, and with the check off style I even thing my kids could use it. Thanks for the link!

Thanks everyone. Actually, we are flying into Sandford international, and i don't remember seeing any bookstores there, however it is good to know we can get it from WDW, and in particular Downtown Disney. This will be the first place we will visit as we need to go to guest relations to get our tickets transferred from vouchers (think it is the easiest place to do this, plus this initial visit gets me soooo over excited), so we can buy it then

I am assuming we can buy it from The World of Disney store. If i'm wrong, and i will waste my time hunting around there, could someone let me know.
Many thanks again.

you probably could find it at WOD somewhere, but for what it's worth, Once Upon a Toy actually has an excellent and easier to find selection of books. here's a sample photo of their offerings that I took. i don't see the hidden mickeys book here, but there is another side as well.

Katy are you flying from Gatwick? If so have a look in the book shops up there in the travel section they may well sell it.

Claire ;)

Since you are from the area near the original Hundred Acre Wood you will be happy to know that I purchased the Hidden Mickey book at the "Pooh shop" (don't know the real name) that is to the left of the entrance to Splash Mountain this past February.

Hope that helps!:)

Thanks everyone. I am flying out from Gatwick, I didn't think to look there. Mind you, a lot of the big book shops even in Brighton had a massive travel section, but no hidden mickey book, so i Gatwick don't have them, i have plenty ofoptions in WDW.
As it happns, i remember vividly looking over that book stand in Once Upon a Toy Store, so i know exacty where to go for that. Thanks for reminding me.

It definitely will not be hard to find down there!

If you need something to do before then, make sure to check out the Official DIS Hidden Mickey Thread (in my sig) and Steven Barrett's website: www.hiddenmickeysguide.com !

We saw one in Border's books and they would probably order it for you if you wnat it.
