I'm sure I'm not the first to point this out, but I hadn't been to the ride in 10 years.

On the left hand side where the fish jumps out of the water... on land you will see fishing tackle. 3 bobbers are arranged, with 2 on top of the 1 making a Mickey head.

Since when does Brer Rabbit not hop through the ride over the hill?

Hi I also saw that hidden Mickey on Splash Mountain but did you know there are 67 hidden Mickeys located from the start of the queue until you exit the attraction. Yes that is 67.... I will look for the link and post it here if I can.

I think I am too busy being afraid of the drop to look for hidden Mickeys.. LOL.. but this is the one thrill ride I do.. I cannot do rollercoasters and since this one is only one drop and a relatively slow pace.. I do it.

I have seen the bobbers hidden mickey, but that's the only one I've found in Splash. I've heard that the opening you ride through at the drop is a hidden mickey, but I can't see it! If someone can explain this to me, I'd appreciate it! :D

jonny,

The effect with Brer Rabbit hopping over the hill has been broken for some time. When I went in March you could see the device that allowed him to hop. By the time I went in June, he was gone and they had removed some of what Brer Fox and Brer Bear said (cause it made no sense with no Brer Rabbit) and there is now this hole in the story line. I also noticed things like tears in the back drops behind the Zip-a-dee-lady. You lose the whole flow of the story and going to the laughin place. Splash Mountain is my all time favorite ride so I really hope they give it a good refurbishment soon and get it back up to snuff.

Joy, the hidden Mickey at the opening is Mickey in profile. As you're going up the final life, there is a rock jutting out into the opening from the left. That's his nose in profile.

Thanks, Karen! Hopefully I'll see it next time.
I agree that Splash Mountain needs some TLC. The tears in the backdrops, and the geese have broken fishing lines. I remember riding this the week it opened in 1992, and I would like it to get closer to the way it was then.

Oh, has anyone met the duck that lives on Splash Mountain? He lives in a puddle under the wagon near the beginning of the ride, when you're outside around the back of the montain (sorry, not the best description). He was there on serveral occasions, early morning and at night. A few times, he was gone, but always seemed to come back. Maybe this was a fluke, but it sure seemed like this was his home.
