Hidden fees with Enterprise?

Hi everyone...

I had a car booked with Avis through SW airlines but switched to Enterprise when I found a better deal and after we switched our vacation dates. When I booked with Avis, I got a page-worth of "Terms and Conditions", but when I booked with Enterprise (also through SW) the only terms and conditions listed for the rental were the usuals:

The minimum rental age is 21 years old on most rentals.
All drivers must have a major credit card and valid driver's license in the driver's name.
Additional taxes, surcharges, or fees may apply.

Anyway, I got a really good deal for a week long rental, mid-size car - $131 base rate, $190 after taxes and fees. But now I'm sort of worried that we're going to be charged extra for something. Should I call Enterprise to ask?

Minimum age to rent is 21 but most customers who are 21-24 have to pay an under-age driver surcharge. I don't know if Enterprise charges for an additional driver. Some agencies/some rate "codes" charge for an additional driver. Even if the additional driver is older then 24 and even if the additional driver is your spouse.

Other extras can be waived.

Thanks Lewisc. At the time of rental, there will only be one driver and that driver will be over 24. I don't think I'll need to worry about an under-age driver surcharge, so I guess I'm trying to figure out if there will be anything else I need to worry about.

Make sure you're getting a 24-hour day and not a calendar day. Some Enterprise rentals are calendar days. Under a calendar day system, if you rented a car at 7pm and returned in the next day at 9am, that would be a 2-day rental.

Be prepared for the "Insurance push" where the agent tells you OVER and OVER and OVER again how much "risk" you are taking by NOT paying them for the insurance!

It looks like I'm being charged a "weekly" rate, so I can't really tell if it's 24-hour or calendar day, but I'm not sure it matters much with my reservation. Here's what was on my receipt:

Weekly Rate:
1 week(s) @ $125.00
1 extra hour(s) @ $6.94
Base Rate $131.94

Enterprise typically (I think always) uses a 24 hour day when renting from airport locations. They'd get too many complaints if they didn't.

Enterprise sometimes uses a calendar day when you rent from a neighborhood location. Those customers are typically either renting a car for a day when their car in the shop or for several days while there care is being repaired. Insurance reimbursement for car rentals are done on a calendar day basis.

Additional taxes, surcharges, or fees may apply.

If you are worried about this statement do not be. All rental agencies have this in their terms and conditions. Your base rate will not change but the taxes and additional fees may change slightly. For example, if the city of Orlando raises the tax on rental cars between now and your rental, the increase will be passed on to you. This happens occasionally but the difference is usually a dollar or two at most and applies to every agency.
